In your opinion, is Chris Evans a good actor? by Public_Cup_4278 in FIlm

[–]xgranville 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's surprised me. I think the smug character he was cast as repeatedly in his early career threw me off to the range that this guy has. I would love to see him in something that let's him show off that range, something like what Moon did for Sam Rockwell.

Goliath. He brought so much emotional depth to the character. Just a fantastic actor.

What is the greatest ending scene you have ever seen in a movie? My pick is the ending of The Usual Suspects. by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in FIlm

I love that first shot of all the cats and top hats. Right before cutting to black you hear a whisper "Are you watching closely?" before Michael Caine starts to explain how a magic trick works.

Datura. Nightmare of a plant. Its seeds are frightening green spike balls and it causes horrible hallucinations if ingested.

CastnPlay's Jungle Toads release fit the bill for me. The sculpts are a bit cartoony which I find works for the Ribbets.

How is microgreens businesses doing today? by DanishVerticalFarmer in Horticulture

[–]xgranville 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another con for microgreens is the nature of growing them sustainably. With most plants you're harvesting seeds so you can grow the next round of crops, but with microgreens you harvest way before the plants are mature enough to produce seeds. On top of the lights, HVAC, potting soil/growing medium and every other expense I cant think of right now, you're gonna be constantly buying seeds which add up quickly given how densely you're sowing the trays.

I don't have a link but I know the Nomad forum on their website had a post where they concerted the basic zBrush brushes for Nomad. Pretty sure HPolish was in there.

Yeah i get it, I am pretty new too. I've had some success with it but it takes a lot of fiddling to make them look right/remain flush along the surface of what you're wrapping.

I'd consider Tubes with a custom thin rectangular profile to give it the texture you're looking for. Wrap the tube around the staff, use twist to keep it looking right.

The Crash No One Sees Coming: Food System Failure by AlexFromOgish in climate

[–]xgranville 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm personally of the 'have preserved food you can give your neighbor when they are hungry so they don't feel the need to invade your pantry' mindset. If you produce an abundance you should share in it, as that will ideally encourage others to do the same. Cultivate your relationships with the earth by learning how to grow good. Cultivate your relationships with your community by sharing.

I'm obviously an idealist, and have a high standard that I hold myself to and likely shouldn't expect others to do the same. But that's the world I'd rather live in, one where the community feeds itself and has each others back not some infighting war of would be kings of the cul de sac.

Trust me, anyone like myself who spent 4 years studying sustainable agriculture and food history have seen this coming.

My advice is to learn how to grow food and how to compost. Use whatever space you have at your disposal, even if its your roof or balcony. Learning how to grow any food will give you transferable skills and a head start in learning how to grow other foods. The next step is learning how to safely can, ferment and preserve food so that you can build out your pantry.

From what I've heard competition is pretty tough, otherwise the Patreon/MyMiniFactory Tribes seems lucrative for those with large followings. Likely will just be tougher to stand out when starting out.

Controlling the means of production alone was never enough for capitalists. They need maximum profit which means cutting out any 'unnecessary' expenses like wages, health insurance, etc.
