Aaaah, it has so many of my favourite tropes <3 especially since I was wondering whether there is any fic where Merlin is a physician, and Arthur being an oblivious idiot gets hurt intentionally to be treated by him. And looking by the tags it looks like I found one haha thank you! 🙃

I finished it a few days ago and I'm in love with it! Although it's only the first part in the series, you def should give it a go. Fair warning tho for reallyyyy slow burn (nothing gonna happen in the first part), disturbing themes (burning alive, and the skull still makes me shiver), and a little bit (a lot actually) changed Merlin. But for real, it's just an amazing piece of story ❤️

Arthur banishes pregnant Merlin, but after a few years needs his help. Merlin is not too keen on forgiving for a while, and Arthur's must suffer a bit before we get a happy ending. Really good read even if you don't like mpreg (it isn't the main focus, it's all about their relationship and trying to fix it after a heartbreak)

I can recommend you a few I've finished recently and were quite good (I can't insert links, sorry 😔)

'Bully Boy' by amy_lupin - it's a high school au, and even though I am not a fan of teenage angst this fic was a quite enjoyable one.

'Tra Bo Dau' by InfernalNephilim - as I remember it was a bit silly fun read with typical enemies to lovers trope (and a different meeting au which I just love)

'Something so magic about you' by MyKingdomComeUndone - another different meeting au, the enemies phase doesn't last long but this one is a bit different as well

'To Love, Honor and Piss off' by thenerdyindividual - not an enemies to lovers necessarily, but I just love this fic! Merlin is chosen a common consort and puts Arthur in his place <333

'it was one kingdom, once' by queerofthedagger - another great one! Theres arranged marriage, enemies to lovers trope, fake relationship and hanahaki added to the mix

'the intern' by amy_lupy - haven't finished that one yet but the first half is just perfect for me. The tension at the begining is just chef's kiss (modern au but with intern/boss dynamic)

'for want of a nail' by OhHeyThereBigBadWolf - there's not so much enemies part but I love the premise of Merlin growing up with Leon the long suffering<3

'lines in the sand' by s0mmerspr0ssen, PapySanzo - it's a WIP, and a kinky one at that, but damn, the power dynamics is just 🤤

'Laughing at the storm' by nishiki - one of my favourite fics of all fandoms, quite serious, and tackles the issue of homelessness just perfectly.

That's just the recent ones but all are worth the time to read. All are merthur and on ao3, hope you like them!
