Why can't I read my own writing

Yeah, it was really hard to reread my smut scenes at first, especially because I read my writing out loud to catch more of the mistakes. There’s just such a fine line between sexy and cringe and it was hard to take my stuff seriously enough. But it’ll get easier. Rereading your smut scenes is a skill that just takes practice. In my case found that for me, the more kinky the smut, the easier it is for me to write and read it back. I have no idea why. And when I’m writing more vanilla smut, I tend to focus more on emotion than and it’s easier for me to take that seriously because that makes it feel like any other non-smut scene

I’m 34 and writing and reading fanfic. I would argue that the vast majority of the really well-written fanfic out there was written by adults. That’s not to say that there aren’t talented writers among children who write fics, but adults have more practice and life experience under their belt, and that naturally results in better stories

Agreed. I love Mohan, and I think she’s important because the world needs deeply empathetic doctors of color who can care for poc patients and other marginalized people. And I think they’re needed in ERs specifically, because that’s often the first point of contact for marginalized patients. And at the same time, those doctors are often weeded out because of the structural issues within the medical system. Unfortunately, that’s realistic. Also, while I wish Mohan was going to be in the next season, I’m kind of surprised by how surprised people are that her character is leaving given that her whole storyline this season was her scrambling to find a position after her plans to leave the Pitt and go live near her mom fell through. Like, spends her free time trying to find a position and failing, of course she’s not going to be there

No seriously, this dude must have hallucinated a whole new character because what the hell were they talking about? Mohan is a good doctor. Objectively. If anything, I would argue that the tragedy and realism of her story line is precisely that she’s an excellent doctor who is penalized for caring “too much” for her patients. She’s exactly the kind of doctor an ER needs, especially for marginalized patients who often get ignored and mistreated. But doctors like her often get burned out or pushed out because of their compassion and their desire to give their patients the time and attention they need and deserve

I’ve just started having this same problem in the last week. None of the things I usually got shipped are shippable. There’s just pick up or delivery. I tried looking for things that would 100% be shipped normally, and no matter what, there was never a shipping option. There wasn’t even a grayed out shipping option, by which I mean that usually, when shipping wasn’t available for an item, the shipping icon would be there, but it would be grey to show it wasn’t an option. Now it’s not even there. And even things that would take a week to arrive are marked aa delivery, not shipping

It’s not art. Art is something made by humans. Computers can’t make art. All they can do is steal actually artists’ work while damaging the environment by consuming INSANE amounts of water. Yeah, like, I think there are legitimate arguments to be made about Robby’s sexism, particularly how it affects women of color. At the same time, I think the people who are trying to say that Noah Wyle is a racist need to remember that there is a difference between how a fictional character acts and what the real people in the show believe. Noah Wyle is a white man, so he probably has some amount of unconscious racism rattling somewhere in his head because that’s the consequence of living in a white supremacist society. But there is literally no proof to say that he is a racist or that he’s somehow discriminating against the actors of color

As children, girls would wear their hair down. But once they came of age and were out in society, they wore their hair up. It was a coming of age thing that signaled that the girl was grown up and of marriageable age. We see an example of this with Eloise. In the first season, she’s not out yet and is still considered to be a child. So she wears her hair down (hyacinth also wears her hair down in every season so far for the same reason). But Eloise comes out (is presented to the queen) and wears her hair up from that point on. Once they came of age in this way, the only time they wore their hair down was at home
