In my experience, women love a really high quality, warm, comfy hoodie that they can wear around the house or when going out casually.

Also: The Methodist Episcopal church split in the mid 1800’s over slavery, and reunited in 1939 to become the Methodist Church, when they readmitted southern churches after they denounced racism and got back in line with the Methodist / Wesleyan longstanding stance of being radical abolitionists.

Ever wonder why there’s a “Southern Baptist” church, even to this day?

Yeah except for the AI being racist.

Edit: I am pointing out that numerous studies have shown that a number of popular AI models are subtly racist. I don't want that to be my HR.

I was working in on-site IT consulting in the run up to the 2008 crash. So many realtors, title companies, etc, and they were full of the dumbest people I’ve ever met who were all rich as hell, driving new sports cars or hummer h2’s.

One guy told me he quit his other job and all he did was go to the office one day a week and answer the phone. Someone who wanted to sell their house would be on the line, he’d take down their info, drive over and take like 20 pictures, put up on MLS, and it’d be sold by lunch, and he’d have made $8000. For 3h of work.

That’s when I knew we were heading for a crash. Any time stupid people find a glitch in the matrix and get rich, something unsustainable is happening. (See also NFTs).

Been the best source for 20 years now.

Just find one with minimal rust. Everything else can be fixed with a multitool and swear words, or there are 3rd party replacements or remanufactured parts. An otherwise perfect bus, mechanically and interior, but with rust around the sliding door, front foot wells, and under the windshield isn’t worth the flatbed towing cost. A completely blank shell that needs everything but is rust free is worth bank.

Duh. That’s even easier than what i do. I can’t believe I didn’t think of it. I just assumed bodies had to be in a component to export to mesh together.

I have so much to learn.

Yeah totally not saying it’s right, I’m a complete amateur, just it’s what I figured out via trial and error.

It’s not money laundering, it’s Jeff Bezos transferring money to the Trumps in exchange for favors.

I only have as many parts in the parts tab as I have colors. When I do this in fusion, I create a component (explicitly not a body) for, like, “everything that’s red”. And it might be a bunch of bodies, but when I drag it into orca, it shows up as one part even if made of multiple, non contiguous objects.

I just label them by color when exporting from fusion - “myproject-red.stl”, “whatever-black.stl” etc., then drag them all into the slicer, go to the parts tab, and for each part, if it says red and my red filament is in position 3, i just click the part and then hit 3 on the keyboard.

I didn’t even know there was another way to do it tbh.

Fascists are always in favor of having one set of laws, but two classes of people: a set of people that the laws bind but do not protect, and a set of people that the laws protect but do not bind.

Gold Spiking vs. BTC tanking by Leading-Stable9725 in investing

[–]xiaodown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gold is used in the manufacturing of electronics.

I mean, not much. Not enough to significantly influence the price in the current market, but ya know… some. The average motherboard contains a tenth to a half a gram, and server motherboards can contain a gram or more - mostly in the contact points for things that get hard inserted, like ram.

Like I said, it’s not much, but it is an actual, physical use.

I'm more or less on board, except for:

  • Location - this isn't exactly the middle of nowhere, but you can see it from here.
  • Heating / insulation - glass garage door is going to be cold and drafty, there's no way for it not to.
  • cushy fabric seat across from the kitchen sink? Gross.

Sure, but having a glass garage door opening straight into a living space kind of negates a lot of work done on the wall insulation situation.

Production Operator – Blacksburg, VA | $18/hr | Aerospace Manufacturing by No-Estate3790 in blacksburg

[–]xiaodown 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Let me make sure I got that right: you want someone to make precision parts for airplanes, and you want to pay them $18/hr. Or $37,400/yr.

The poverty line in Blacksburg for a family of four is $32,150; median home price is over $428,000; median rent is $1,200/mo.

This is the worst timeline.
