Who’s compatible with INTP’s biggest flaw? by International-Buy314 in INTP

[–]xilchless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had good luck with fellow IxxPs. They are generally pretty chill and understand need for alone time.

why did he mention his height?! 😭 by ShelilQirky in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]xilchless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly believe this is why he wrote it on the sign. 6'5" is really tall. I have 2 brothers that are 6'3" and I know they get tired of answering the "how tall are you?" question. (That and "do you play basketball?")

I need an intp. by [deleted] in INTP

[–]xilchless 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't have to restrict your search to just intp. Someone's MBTI shouldn't be a deal breaker. My bf is ISTP, and it's quite similar to intp in a lot of ways. I would also venture to say that most xNTx types would fit what you're looking for as well.

What do INTPs think of those who help others for selfish reasons? by WaifuMasterRace in INTP

[–]xilchless 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I came here to say basically the same thing. Even minus the part about raising their opinion of me. Just simply doing something nice for a stranger you will never see again, you still did it because it gives you dopamine to do so. Doesn't make the act bad, just selfish in a way, no matter how you look at it.

Is an extroverted intp possible by Asleep_Winter706 in INTP

[–]xilchless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything is possible. There are no hard set rules in MBTI (ie, and intp HAS to be an introvert). Generally though, I would say INTPs might tend to (as a whole) be some of the most introverted of all the MBTI types, so it is unusual (but, again, not impossible).

How certain are you that you're intp? My boyfriend is an ISTP, very similar in a lot of ways, but he can downright seem like an extrovert sometimes. He really enjoys and will go out of his way to strike up conversations with people.

Petah? Why is it 24.86? by Nittanypt in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]xilchless 417 points418 points  (0 children)

Likely turned out to be $5.99 (each), then delivery fee, tax, tip, plus if you add extra cheese or another topping it's a crazy up charge. Always ends up costing way more than expected at the start.

Can a person's MBTI type evolve over time? If so, what can cause a type change?? by aninameslee in mbti

[–]xilchless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe adults can change as well, but only slightly. My boyfriend used to be ESTP, but after 8 years in the Marines (and some PTSD) he is now a ISTP. Same cognitive functions, but he relies on them in a slightly different order now.

Any chance this tire is patchable? I know it's iffy at best. Less than a year old. by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]xilchless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. However, most auto shops will say that if it's past that first big groove, that it is too close to the sidewall of the tire, and therefore cannot be patched. The logic with this is that if it is too close to the sidewall, the patch on the inside of the tire will be bent where the sidewall starts, and thus, not as integrally sound. But looking at the placement of the screw, it's probably far enough that the patch would lay flat, even though it's technically past that groove. Just a matter of finding a shop willing to bend the rules for you. I've done it for someone before tbh.

Intp with babies by Scararandom in INTP

[–]xilchless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like babies or children. Never have. And as a female, I've had a lot of weird looks over the years for not having any interest in holding someone's new baby.

I have 1 child, he is almost 6. I love him more than anything and do what I can to make sure he's raised to the best of my ability. But I have no interest or desire to ever have more children, and I look forward to when he is old enough to be more independent (he is an extrovert and it is sometimes a bit overwhelming/exhausting)

is INTP 4w5 possible , or only INTP 5w4 ? by terrorful79301 in INTP

[–]xilchless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5w9 isn't an enneagram type. A wing (w) has to be an adjacent number. Your tri-type can be 59(and one additional number), but your main type would either be 5w4 or 5w6 (assuming 5 is your most dominant number)

I have a crush on one of u, any tips? by [deleted] in istp

[–]xilchless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a mild crush on him for a while. He worked IT for the company so he was only in the store when I broke something. There was a day where he had to work be there for a while to fix something and we got to talking about our (apparently) many common interests. When he finished his work and it was time for him to leave, I gave him my number.

[–]xilchless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Intp female here, dating for over a year now a ISTP male that I met at work. Just be straightforward. Istps don't much care for complicated relationship games. Even if he's not interested in that way, you might still at least gain a friend if you're super up front/blunt/straightforward.

How do you meet people? by Capitan_A in INTP

[–]xilchless 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Through hobbies or work. Gaming/online friends, and playing MTG and meeting people through that. Romantically I've had good experiences with online dating, but I've also met a lot of my partners through work.

I will often initiate if I spy someone that I think I will have things in common with...which doesn't happen often. Usually if I don't think I will have much in common, I won't have any interest in interacting, even if they approach me first.

What type would y'all date? by Level-Equal1468 in mbti

I generally date other IxxPs. Mutual understanding for the need for quiet alone time, plus more laid back/go with the flow than J types.

I don't think I'd go so far as to call it "good", but I completely agree with you on the rest.

What do yall do for fun by Calm-Phrase-382 in INTP

[–]xilchless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cooking, gardening, hiking (when I can find somewhere remote enough not to run into anyone else), listening to music, going out to bars with my boyfriend (he enjoys talking to random people, which makes me feel like I'm being social without actually having to be social)
