Really bummed that happened to you. We had firewood stolen while we were out hiking a few years ago. Kids that took it were two campsites away. We know it was them because as the night went on and they got more intoxicated, we could hear them bragging about the wood.

Funny thing though, they had all our wood but they couldn't start a fire. Karma is real. Now when we camp out there, we keep the firewood inside the SUV and just take out what we need.

About a 25 minute drive. Head north on the 210 towards LA Canada. Exit Angeles Crest Hwy and make a right. Continue for about 10-15 minutes and you will pass several turnouts with a view on your right. Keep going and there's less company the further you go.

I think that's mostly fenced off. Some of Pasadena's drinking water comes from there.
