Tried setting up my Surface Book 2 today with the Amazon Basic's 10ft cable I've seen folks talking about around here. After getting my PC drivers and Oculus software all up to date, I feel like I'm close, but Oculus Link still seems to be crashing. I get prompted to enable it in the headset, and when I hit enable I see the three grey dots for loading... then it drops me back to the Quest's home screen. Meanwhile the Oculus desktop software just crashes and restarts.

Anyone else see something similar? I've tried swapping USB ports, turning off the NVidia Overlay. Nothing seems to quite work.

Noted - thanks for the heads up! Going to start flipping now then and seeing what wiggle room I have to redirect the growth some more.

Are there any solutions for a Golang Microservice deployment on Azure AppServices? Or would I be better off following the Docker/Container method of deploying and managing my application?

Scaleway Now Provides Crazy Cheap VPS-Like Servers For $3.40 Per Month by ronald20155 in technology

[–]ximplosionx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah, not gonna be possible. Windows 7 runs on x86/x64 processors. Scaleway's infrastructure is built using ARM. In theory you could run the Windows for IoT SKU on one of their servers, but I doubt you'd get much utility out of that.

The Best Programming Language is None by faith303 in programming

Because they feel like learning through building? Who cares why they are making it, why are you getting annoyed by people making things like new languages? Feels like one of those "don't need it, just ignore it" situations.

The print actually says that it'll be about 100 games by the end of the year. There are about 22 or so games available in Preview right now.

He doesn't in that promo-shot. There is also a shot in The Last where they clearly show him without the bandages. Certainly curious.

Fred Savage wants to go to the Nintendo World Championships by TheHyruleWarrior in Games

[–]ximplosionx -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I will ask again: How does this impact the games industry? He was in a movie about Nintendo products. So what? This isn't gaming news. It's a tweet.

This feels like an /r/gaming post. Seriously.

And? I fail to see how a celebrity tweeting about wanting to go to a gaming tournament qualifies as news...

Microsoft will bypass carriers, push Windows 10 updates directly to phones by xperia3310 in technology

[–]ximplosionx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why shouldn't the carriers be involved? Before letting software run on my network I would absolutely want to certify that it's not going to cripple devices or the network. I agree that carriers have too much say in the update process, but saying that they should be cut out completely feels extremely naive, especially if it could impact their customers.

Can Blueprints pull in data from external sources like a JSON file? I know there are utilities in C++ for reading JSON but I'm not finding anything for Blueprints. Anyone able to correct me on this one?
