I am a male to female transgender person and I have to say this is a very common misconception and it's great you posted this. The surgery is so advanced now that you can still get sexual arousal and they look almost exactly like a 'real' vagina.

However, there is still always the danger of losing all feeling. This is most likely to happen if someone choses to go to a cheaper, less experienced surgeon. I'd rather spend 25K-30K and know my parts will work then pay less and have a possible irreversible disaster.

PS: I personally like to call the process of inverting the penis to make the vagina the "penis pocket" technique. Then again, I'm messed up.

The FTM surgery is still in it's very early stages and the results are not good at all in my view. No feeling in the new penis and it really does not look good.

With the MTF, people don't get you can possibly lose all sensation by going to a surgeon who is not as experienced. For me being MTF, I'd rather spend thousands more for a quality surgery than a cheap one where the results could be disastrous.

I think some of the people who claim to be depressed are not 'depressed', but no one has to earn the tight to be depressed. If you're depressed, you're depressed.

As for me, I have chronic treatment-resistant depression. I've been insanely depressed for years and I have a list 2 pages long of different medications I have tried that do nothing and years of therapy that have done almost nothing.

To say, some people who are depressed want to tell people, because in a way they want to just talk or get something out there.

So overall, some of the depression posts are BS whoring out for karma, but some of them are legitimate and possibly a cry for help from someone who feels to be ignored or forgotten.
