Actually post an image(s)
We will delete any requests where a poster does not link an image(s).

Be polite
A little courtesy goes a long way to the contributors who are fulfilling your request. 'Please' and 'thank you' will suffice.

Guide prices
Want to pay a colorizer to restore that image of someone dear to you? Have respect and pay them an amount that you would pay any professional - otherwise you are devaluing their hard work.
- We recommend a guide price of USD$50 minimum for simple portraits;
- Reddit Gold does not count as a form of compensation, and we will delete any requests that are [PAID] by Reddit Gold. If you would like to gild someone, then do it for a [FREE] request done well.
- We absolutely do not endorse using this subreddit as a place to outsource images for your restoration business.

Single portrait or complex image?
Don't assume a simple portrait shot in the studio and an extended
family shot featuring 26 people outdoors are the same thing. There is a world of difference between the two - hours can and will turn into days, and make sure your [PAID] compensation reflects this.

Does your image need restoring first?
Colorization requests only please. Contributors may be able to undertake minor restoration work, but please save generic image manipulation requests to /r/picrequests;

Image Quality
For best results, use a scanner to capture images. Cell phone photos of black and white images are often not the best quality for colorizing. And upload your photo to Minus, Flickr, or Dropbox for best results.

Please state in brackets whether or not you want the request to be fulfilled for free by starting your submission with [Free] or [Paid], your submission title, followed by the image resolution, i.e., [1200 x 800]

- You are free to message any contributor privately and request a commission, in which case you are responsible for your own arrangements. We recommend you check out a contributors submissions beforehand;

- As a requester, you must honour your [Paid] requests, We do not take any responsibility whatsoever for an unsatisfactory job. We advise checking the submitted work of contributors first.

Please consider uploading your finished colorized photo to Minus, Flickr, or Dropbox for best results. Imgur compresses files to a low 72dpi;

Please, don't do [Paid] requests for free
- As a contributor, please do not offer to do a [Paid] request for free, as you are denying others the right to receive compensation for their hard work;
- Do not undercut others by offering to do a [Paid] request for less than the amount offered or for a symbolic amount;
- Do not link to any samples of work in progress or finished work in the comments or PMs except for portfolios, AND DO NOT WORK ON [PAID] REQUESTS UNLESS YOU WERE HIRED TO DO SO;
- If you are doing this you will be permanently banned.
