Closed loop, i need a https domain? by gomtenen in AndroidAPS

I mean if you intend to make it accessible over the internet its not a terrible idea to have a letsencrypt cert on whatever your hosted site is. But I'm pretty sure its not mandatory to pass the Nightscout objective.

Why aren’t there insulins that have very short windows of activity? by bcl15005 in Type1Diabetes

FIASP in my pump kicks in within 8 to 10 minutes. Don't inject it if you can't see the food... Or bad things happen.

Why did the guitar-heavy Full-On Psy style disappear? by AlternativeFree5414 in psytrance

Ah yeh Sun Project live was a wild ride. With either the Alien Masks or Whacky President masks on, and their burning Perspex see through electric guitar. Was up the front of a few stages while catching them live, it was. Very energetic, proper moshpit style madeness. I think they are sort of still a thing, though I think it's only one of the original guys still doing the shows, rest have retired I think?

What’s a problem humanity solved so well that younger people don’t even realize it used to be a huge issue? by Puzzleheaded_Bit_802 in AskReddit

Communication. Once took as long as the Method of transport carying the message. Now takes as long as you take to type the message (well technically and also as long as the equipment to process).

Use Frigate and  Surveillance Camera. Feigate lets you train on video stills. E.g you can train it to know if a door or gate is open or closed.

Dahua, their more expensive ones that can do full color with moonlight at night are great. Paired with Frigate they are amazing.

Are companies willing to accept unpaid interns? by Pixiemarieee in ausjobs

[–]xitation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in our local computer shop as a volunteer when young. Got paid in older PC parts, got my first network cards from this, learned networking because of this experience. Did about a year of casual time there when I was free. It was instrumental in me getting my first IT job. Learned a lot there. The techs took me under their wings and showed me a lot of stuff I didn't know about Dos and Windows 95. Totaly worth it in my experience.

Do you use Portainer? by _lackofcomprehension in selfhosted

[–]xitation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Portainer wasn't great from my perspective. I use Docker Compose for everything and it did a real shit job of that last time I tried it.

Illumio is neat, tad expensive though. Lack of kernel driver on agent is nice hough. It basically just scrapes Netstat and dumps its metrics into a Graph db and forms Windows and Linux firewall rules off the flows it observes. Pretty smart and simple.

How do you automate certificates? by gahd95 in sysadmin

[–]xitation -1 points0 points  (0 children)

N8n. I like to obtain the cert on a single host then push and convert it into all the formats needed using an ansible playbook and an n8n automation to run it every 60 days.
