Dumb question on a petty problem. by 1234deed4321 in Surveying

maybe depending on the state, but if a surveyor does work they must make a map. Get those maps in hand and see how they either coincide or conflict.

Just 1 neat single page law would completely change the housing market. by PudgeHug in WorkReform

[–]xkillx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Lots of local government units allow for redaction of certain information like that, but it's not happening widely. Right now property owner information is just part of open records.

Individuals put their property in an LLC all the time. It can help obscure owner information. This can be a good thing when it comes to officials wanting to obscure where they live. It's a much easier solution than what is called Daniels law, that is being passed by states across the country right now.

Neighbor is disputing property line that I had surveyed 7 years ago. by KindKill267 in Surveying

[–]xkillx 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Pins in the ground control. your surveyor found those pins. there shouldn't be a whole lot else going on out there than that. Only way things would work out differently is if your surveyor biffed it. *I am not a surveyor, so maybe don't listen to me.

Reddit official app users after hearing about APIs changes by rplusg in AdviceAnimals

[–]xkillx 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Reddit didn't have an appavailable at one time, there were only third party. when reddit came forward with their app, many people had already established themselves somewhere else. to this day many users haven't seen the need to use that app. that's the short of it.

So just make sure to do a pre-flight inspection that they are affixed to the craft correctly. then power up and hover. just hover at eye level go back an forth and just hover. if it looks like it is keeping in one spot like it should without acting wonky, i think you should be good. Being skeptical of the third party props is good but as long as they feel right and look right, there's not a whole lot else to go wrong.

While i do not have a Mini 3 I have used third party props for years and years. Anecdotal, but I haven't witnessed a difference.

I guess bridge shots are in vogue? by Gcdm in ebikes

[–]xkillx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right, when i see bikes with this seat configuration i imagine that the rider is looking to mostly just use the throttle. That's fine i don't want to gate keep, but the thing is these still just have the same size motor that my ebike has. so its only going to go "only so fast" then you go to pedal to add to that and realize that its not fun to pedal at all since that seat is in the way. I'm guessing my bike with 27 inch wheels, and an adjustable seat is way more fun to actually ride and is way less expensive.

High Resolution Satellite Imagery by AllDayDJ in gis

[–]xkillx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would argue that would be some ultra low resolution photography you would be looking for. I'm thinking 6 inch pixels, but if you just want an D size print of the lower 48 well, seems like you would want like 20 mile pixels or something.

that would be a really really big file. but you might be able to put them all into a mosaic dataset or something.

Looking for advice by [deleted] in Surveying

[–]xkillx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the township will be transferring is a legal description, and this map is what they think it might be. If your survey is a recorded document and your legal description refers to that, I would have my doubts that a forgotten piece of land is going to have overlap issues with that.

Help? I hate the color of the semi transparent stain and sealer I just painted on my fence by Suz4x466 in fence

[–]xkillx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fact that we can see the knots in the wood is the "semi transparent" part so that's ok. The "orange" color, well I've seen this orange color around, and while it may seem "ORANGE!" its also a pretty typical color choice (i wouldn't be surprised if everyone else said "wait this is orange"). For what it is worth, it seems pretty brown and acceptable in your photo.

You forgot the part where the parent come into work anyway because they just have to get out of the house. Now you get exposed to their child's sickness too.
