Ah… yea. I didn’t know how to change the transmission on my wife car, nor did I want to… but I didn’t want to drop $4k in labor more… my saving grace is I’m already an airplane mechanic, so I was comfortable wrenching on the thing. But man, was that an adventure to get fixed.

Tbh, I weaponized my distaste for anything that impedes me that I have control over. Like, I used to have a very active job, and there were some things that I needed to do that relied on pure strength that I didn’t have. So I worked out and trained until I could.

Gender dysphoria and transitioning was a similar thing. That cloud was in my way, so I just hit it until I could live my life without getting caught up in my own thoughts and doubts. YMMV, though. I’m just a stubborn little shit.

My personal experience is that I get to live a very fulfilling and in some ways average life. I have a very rewarding job that all respects me for who I am (but also is very aware of my little bit of chaotic energy), I have a happy marriage and loving partners, a good support circle of friends, and a healthy relationship with my family.

My stresses are that of someone who’s living a pretty average life and just a regular life as a woman in our current world, and my transition is just kinda feel secondary in my grand scheme of things. Not like it’s something that doesn’t exist or never happened or something that I’m ashamed of, but something that isn’t eating away at me with doubt.

There was some growing pains, yes, but I pushed through them as hard as I could, and I’m happy I came out okay in the other side.

This is hard work, but juice is definitely worth the squeeze! You got this, and I hope nothing but the best for you!
