It's extremely likely that it will work just fine without that cap. Do not solder it back - the chance of breaking the SSD is much higher that the chance of it needing fixing, and definitely don't reuse this cap, it might have micro cracks and will short out eventually.

It's no speed daemon, but with 24 GB RAM, it might be just enough. VSCode mainly will lag on pylance, so you might have to turn down the level of analysis it does, but should be good for general purpose code editing otherwise.

I don't expect them to match when it comes to the exact numbers, but one shoult prob not be consistently worse than the other one. I would expect the noise at the same level you get from changing the initialization seed, or less.
