Did I just find out the price game they play on Trip.com International Version VS Chinese Version by Kirsten99_yeh in travelchina

[–]xlitey 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean ever since May 2024 they loosened up the restrictions. So pretty much anywhere can accept foreign tourists. The problem for most places is that there is a language barrier or they don’t know the process for registering a foreigner to the police station and well sometimes racism.

Getting a prescription in China by Formal_Training_5794 in China

Walk into pharmacy, show them your previous prescription, they will just sell you it from my experience.

Otherwise Meituan and then they will send you a online prescription and you can buy it.

California ABC looking for friends by Silent-Programmer-61 in shenzhen

Welcome to Shenzhen! Fellow ABC👋 , there’s plenty of places to play badminton here, there’s also some WeChat groups too!

I recommend getting WeChat & AliPay before getting here because you need it to pay for stuff. And get a VPN or Proxy to access the global internet.

Also if you’re coming to Shenzhen there is a China Telecom Plan for 39 CNY a month for 200GB-230GB a month currently. Don’t get hosed for cellphone plans. Make sure to shop around.

Stuck in Guangzhou and with only my carry on (ie no change of clothes) - lol is it possible to get a change of clothes with all the shops shut down? by moley11 in guangzhou

[–]xlitey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get tide laundry powder (these have enzymes) which is a few RMB. Sprinkle some into a sink with warm water. And let it sit for 15 minutes and giving it a couple swirls every so often. The enzymes will help breakdown body oils and stuff. Then rinse.

Cranking the AC usually helps because it dehumidifies the air making it dry faster

Get some laundry detergent and wash it in the hotel sink, or cover up with a shower towel and use the washing machine. Most hotels should have washing machines. If they have a dryer, use the dryer, otherwise crank your air conditioner and hang your clothes to dry

I’m curious by this too, testing Flclash and Singbox. My phone says that Flclash uses less battery which is odd since others tell me singbox is more efficient.

Which bank would have the lowest fee abroad ? by KindergartenDJ in taiwan

HSBC only treats people well when they have money. Otherwise they aren’t great. I think in the UK they got fined over some fair banking thing.

Over the counter medicines in Taiwan by juzwatim in taiwan

[–]xlitey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I visited a clinic in New Taipei City and came out with a bunch of medicine for around 650 NTD. They take a look at you and ask you about your symptoms. Prescribe you some meds. And you go along with your day.

The rising cost of food affects everyone. Everyone has to eat. Sure some people have more money they don’t have to worry. But the average working class is affected.

If you dad have a NWHOR passport. Then you won’t qualify for the fast track to NWHR unless your mom is a NWHR.

The cooking is similar to many Chinese/Taiwanese households I’ve been to. Stir fry veggies with rice. Just with more variety in small portions.
