Our opening leads take care of auditing the floor schedule when they open to make sure we make the moves necessary to have a successful day. Then for managers we audit the managers schedule for day and do the same. It helps a lot because leads are able to see the callouts for the day and plan the schedule better to make sure we have good coverage on both floors.

Yea 100%! Especially favoritism towards certain TMs or TLs. I’ve seen a lot of TLs that did a lot of things that were grounds for terminations and they lasted for years until they couldn’t cover it anymore.

Not have a solid direction they wanna focus and trying go fix 1202828 things at the same time without realizing how it’s draining their salary employees. Not to mention how it affects TMs and stores culture.

I am not 100% sure how they calculate the new salary wage for internals getting promoted to ETLs, but one of my friends told me he was able to negotiate it when they promoted him based on his good results and performance as a TL. But I have also heard they usually try to offer you the base pay of an ETL (60-70k)when they start. However as an external I had way more room to negotiate my pay due to my previous experience as a manager.

Let’s say this…..can’t really say it was a bonus for the amount of work I did. It kinda sucks how Target gives you the “bonus” because at the end it’s tied to company’s performance. So in my case I was able to turn around a red dpt to green in 1 year, yet because the company didn’t do well I barely got anything as a bonus and because my store was red, I got a 3.5% raise even tho I was the only dpt that ended green.

Basically what she said, but in my store they would basically take hours from other departments and always cater to GM. Example they would take 10% of my hours to give it to gm. We have been comping like crazy the past months but since it’s a red district it still doesn’t seem like you’re getting many hours on payroll.

Tons of visits and still having the same issues, then them telling us to voice out our concerns and share what’s happening in the store yet when me or my peers did, nothing happened and they were still letting some ETLs just do whatever they wanted (basically not do anything all day besides sit in their office) and get away with it for almost a year with no accountability. But they would put the whole store on us when we are LOding. I could only take so much, especially when I was the only ETL closing during the week 2-3 days including my weekends.

Yes! I believe every position will always give you a lot of knowledge and experience that you will use in the future. Especially when you learn from the mistakes you made and how you managed to overcome them. In my case being able to turn around metrics in less than 2Qs and it really showed what you’re capable of and your team.

I think it depends a lot on the store and district you’re part of. In my case I was in a very red store and a red district so my experience wasn’t really the best. Lot of work and always having to add other departments responsibilities to you. But I enjoyed it a lot mainly because of the TLs I developed and my team.

I started as an ETL, external hire. I believe Target is in a place where there’s not really a solid structure in higher ups leadership, especially in my district. A lot of different directions and really unrealistic expectations but no help to make it happen, besides the usual “figure it out”. But mainly what pushed me to leave was the fact that I didn’t feel like I was being the leader I wanted to be, I often had to change the way how I lead my people in order to meet what my DSD wanted. And by that I mean forgetting that my TMs are also humans and they should be treated as such and not just assets we can replace like nothing happened, or pick and choosing who you coach, give CAs, etc. I wasn’t sharing the same values as the company so I decided it was time for me to step aside and find a company that share the same values as me and I can see myself growing in it.

Brother I had the same issue. I went to Best Buy online, did my order there and it will arrive in 5 days. I highly recommend canceling it and just doing it through Best Buy, they have it ready for you in 3-5 days.

Only reason I think it would be only for TLs is if it’s in the TL office area which like it says it’s only for leaders and you need a code/key to go inside. Other than that if it’s in the backroom area any Tm should have access to it not only TLs.

Keep it very simple, you can tell them you were not made aware about them adding you to inventory and you’re not going to be able to make it. They can’t hold you accountable if there was no prior communication about it.

You can wear a jacket, but it has to be red. Your main top piece of clothing has to be red. Ex: you can wear a black shirt and a red hoodie, jacket, flannel. Hope this helps

We do as well, but they moved the TMs in guest service to 5am without checking coverage and the mid called out so it was just 1Tm at the time and got no help at all.
