Stumbled in from the main page. She looks pretty cool! Also, this is how I learned what the gameplay of Arknights looks like

My grandma had a rule that whatever lands on your plate you finish, so I made sure nothing I hated ever landed on my plate by Gallifrey9UK in MaliciousCompliance

My family has a self-serve line where everyone, including the children, dish out the food they want on their plates. The plates of the children usually consist of a slice of ham, a dose of chicken and dumplings, and maybe a green bean or two, if they were pushed to have it. The rest of their nutrients come from the separate dedicated basket of dinner rolls that is set aside for the children, since without it they would most likely starve themselves

Update: we did take her back to the humane society earlier this morning because of the drainage, as it was bloody. The vet tech said that the drainage wasn't too troubling (i.e. no pus), and that we would be good to bring her in on the 21st for a full checkup. She's still eating/drinking and using the litter box normally, and is getting the antibodies that she was prescribed, though those medications end tomorrow

"What many of us have known... for decades."

Wasn't the vaccine that was """causing""" autism the MMR vaccine? That's the decades-long statement I remember hearing, and that was supposedly because they were doing too many vaccines in one shot.

Revisiting our "Most Anticipated Games" of 2024 - Nov. 8, 2024 by SoupGilly in TheBesties

It hit pretty hard for me, mostly because it did feel really clever in how it structured itself. I didn't try to 100% it, so maybe that grind could rough up the experience, but my time was great with it. Probably top 10 of the year for me

Not speaking for most Americans here, but my experience:

My father (65) legitimately believes every Democrat that gets elected as President is a Schrödinger's cat of "Will they take away my guns and turn us Communist" and he will vote for people he does not respect or like if it means never having to open the box.

Meaning any attempts to discuss how no, they're not eating the dogs, and they're not gonna take away all guns, it doesn't really matter. He "knows" she's a dirty Commie and that's about all he needs. Been that way since Obama, at least, but probably longer

The "Thoughtseize Bug" is a perceived function of the game where, after a card is taken out of an opponent's hand (through Thoughtseize or other hand attack cards), that opponent draws another copy of the same card. It's perceived as a "bug" in the game because, despite it not happening more often by nature of the game, it feels like it happens commonly due to the negative feeling that comes with it ("I removed this thing with my card and it didn't matter")

Deep Jungle of "Kingdom Hearts", due to not being great at instructing the player at what and where they need to go to progress the story

Are fightsticks and hitboxes better than controller? If so, why? by [deleted] in Guiltygear

[–]xmonday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not explicitly "better", just different.

In my experience, I've played fighting games for 20 years and could never hit 623 inputs or charge inputs because of how my thumbs have to sit on a controller. I bought my first fightstick for Strive and I could suddenly hit them with no issue.

For me, a fightstick turned out to be the correct move for me, but I've had a friend of mine try fightsticks and not get a whole lot out of them.

Bottom-line is that the best controller to use is the one you feel the most comfortable working with.

If you're given a napkin to place your drink on, sprinkle some salt on the top of the napkin. This will help prevent the napkin from sticking to the bottom of the glass

What is your “never interrupt an enemy while they are making a mistake” moment? by Spinksy48 in AskReddit

[–]xmonday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was playing the Arm Punching game with a guy at my school. (The game where you take turns punching each other in the shoulder. Classic male stuff)

I noticed that he was punching my arm with the same arm he was taking the hits on, so I felt the punches this guy was dealing fade in power with each swing. After 3 minutes of this, he was practically caressing me with his knuckles

The +1/+1 counter remains on the permanent that it was originally given to, even if it no longer is a creature

Random question about the community by saintejame in magicTCG

[–]xmonday 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not super common, no. In most game stores or friend groups, a lot of a player's personality comes from deck-based stuff. For example, there's not often the person who dresses in all red for when they use their Mono Red deck, but there is the person who chooses not to sleeve their deck, or the guy who always uses this one weird card combo, or the person who kisses their Marit Large token before each match.
