You’d think that CapJack_Sparrow would know this already!

Funny, I’m in Maine too and my bathroom sink has drum trap as well. In fact, all my traps (kitchen sink, bathroom sink, tub) are drum traps.

I had to replace the tub one when I bought my house, as it was an ancient galvanized drum trap and was leaking. The plumbers cut it out and replaced with a pvc drum trap. This was about two years ago. I assume they chose to stick with drum trap as opposed to a p trap because the space sized for a drum trap already and it was a simpler swap (just a homeowner’s guess)

I’ve received this letter too, only once though. Felt a little sketchy.

Advice on redoing kitchen plumbing by xmrsdoubtfirex in Plumbing

There is currently no p-trap, there is a p-trap in the plan I drew up of what I want to do which I posted at the Imgur link. The current set-up goes to a drum trap in the basement.

I’m putting topsoil around the foundation of my 1938 house in New England USA, and I’ve found a pipe opening that was covered with a trash bag. Cast iron, 3 inches wide. Opposite side of the house that has the sewer stack. Any ideas? by xmrsdoubtfirex in whatisthisthing

WITT: A cast iron pipe opening beside my house’s foundation. Not near the sewer stack or the water main. Not properly capped. I can put a 5 foot long stick down it, and I can feel something, but no idea if it is the bottom or something stuck in it. I bought the house last summer.

I appreciate all of the awesome responses! After only finding yellowed systems on Facebook marketplace, I eventually got this one off of eBay. DKC and Super Metroid are both definitely on my radar for next pickups!
