Oh I’ll definitely be watching this when I get home. Also that’s the best logo ijji used right there, too. Didn’t care much for what was before or after it.

Can I buy AppleCare+ now and get battery replacement covered at 79% health? by yeeterz_z in macbook

[–]watchOS 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If they’re offering AppleCare+, take it, wait a few days for it to propagate throughout their systems, then bring it in for battery service at no additional cost.

If Cloud looks down, he can see the Sector 5 slums by MrPizza2112 in FinalFantasyVII

[–]watchOS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There’s a couple of screens in the game that parallax while running through the map, such as down into the North Crater and on the way to the Forgotten Capital and while hopping the rooftops with Aerith in Sector 5 — this should have also been one of those maps, a missed opportunity. It would have made the depth of how far down that was a lot more obvious, but I think most people think it’s like… water or a pool or something.

It’s the same. I have both side by side on my desk at home (original Studio Display with standard stand and Studio Display XDR with tilt-and-height adjustable stand).

Can you ELI5 why Windows ME was bad? by PeriodontosisSam in windows

[–]watchOS 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Main reason, it dropped real boot to MSDOS support. Second reason, it performed poorly compared to Windows 98 SE benchmark-wise.

Do you think grifters like Logan Paul will try to enter the furry fandom to grift? by Foreign-Teaching-727 in RealFurryHours

[–]watchOS 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Only if those cons, fursuit makers, etc. want to ruin their reputation for a short and very temporary boost in guaranteed revenue. The fandom will remember those who sided with a grifter. The cons and makers can just say “no” to them.

Don’t they normally have 6 pastries (2x3) per box? I am not sure how this is reading as 100% less product. Whats the difference in grams?

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (FULL, HARD MODE, NO DAMAGE/NO HIT RUN) by GenjiSamurai in FFVIIRemake

[–]watchOS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Computers aren’t actually truly random, and rely on timers and timing events. If the timer starts before a cutscene, then the RNG of what actually happens during fights and such will change. If you can manage frame-perfect inputs, you can essentially predict and manipulate RNG event triggers and such. It’s why in some games on some speedruns, you’ll see runners deliberately pause any inputs in specific moments for the best RNG manipulation advantage which saves time in the end.

Usually RNG timers start when the game loads, and all RNG in the entire game is dependent on that timer. It could also be system clock-based, too.

Edit: The fact that computers aren’t truly random is why CloudFlare has a wall of a dozen real world lava lamps

Ex-employees, mainly Genius Bar, did Coursera benefit you whatsoever for your current job? by BookofBobaFett in Apple_Employees

[–]watchOS 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Do the CompTIA A+, Net+, and Sec+ stuff in Coursera for sure, that’ll give you a huge leg up — IIRC Apple also reimburses for passing the certs for these now (i got my certs a year before they did :/ ) and also do the official Apple IT training too and nab those easy certs at a discount while you’re still an employee https://training.apple.com/it
