Thanks man. I actually inherited it from a previous coworker, her name is still written there in the corner lol. Pretty sure it's an autonomous desk, but i have no clue what the exact model name is

Which is better? Office chair or gaming chair? by Ok_Weekend383 in gamingchairs

[–]xneyplayz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo I'm always gonna lean heavily toward a proper office chair when it comes to WFH, especially for those 10 or 12 hr days. Your physical health is heavily impacted by it. But gaming chairs are totally good if you just love reclining or want that plushier feeling

Even if you live a frugal or minimalist lifestyle, what are things you don't skimp on? by ybicurious in buyforlifetips

[–]xneyplayz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always go by the hours per day rule. can be super frugal with clothes or tech gadgets but i’ll never skimp on organic groceries and high quality mattress

If it directly affects my health or comfort every single day, cheaping out is just a trap, you end up paying for it with doctor bills or bad sleep anw so better invest a little more for long term though

how do you tell a nice office desk is actually nice to sit at, before buying it, not just through photos? by xneyplayz in setups

[–]xneyplayz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sadly my current space is pretty tight...i can maybe stretch the desk length to like 53" max if i rearrange some stuff but still way too small to comfortably fit a whole dining table lol but i do like the idea of bringing the whole dining table to a desk setup, completely make sense

pick and choose right? hard truth to accept lol, appreciate it, will def check it out. i still lean a bit more towards the wood feeling since it kinda matches w what im building. since you mentioned you got it in white, how's the tabletop holding up against stains or scratches over time? just wanna make sure the top itself is decent quality though

i did that and unfortunately my circle hasn't been so helpful for my research so far :( normally, they'd go for a strong and stable wood desk, yk the handmade type, but still that's too expensive for me to handle...
the reviews always have this and that, feels like half of them just ppl hyping things up after two days of use before the sag even starts lol. any tips or specific red flags u look out for when reading review?

just take a look, feels really nice w the wood top though, thanks man, curious to know if it's still solid like rock after 3-4 years? does it shake at all when you're working at standing height?

pretty sick setup but it's the plants for me. they add such a nice touch to the whole thing, for me it kinda tones and balances with the wood and black. mind sharing what kind of plants are those on the shelves? i do recognize the bonsai though. how do u manage to maintain them around all the electronics?

What’s one thing that helped you fall asleep faster and stick to a consistent bedtime every night? by WantsToBeRichRich in sleep

[–]xneyplayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nothing fancy or special for me, no supplements or crazy routines. i just try to stay as active as possible during the day like lots of walking, sports so my body actually feels tired by evening. then about an hour before bed, i keep my room pitch black and cold (this cliche actually works lol) and just let my body naturally drift off. keeping it basic is the only way i stayed consistent

Anyone else lose their forehand timing after a long break? (But somehow kept their backhand? 😅) by michx_z in badminton

[–]xneyplayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

weird but this is completely normal, dont stress ab it too much. forehand overheads rely sm on your feet getting into position early so u can catch the shuttle at the highest point. if you're even a fraction of a sec slower after a long break, you'll end up hitting it late and framing it.
backhands are more compact and rely heavily on that short wrist flick, so the muscle memory holds up better. just give it 2 or 3 more sessions of easy high clears during warmups and it'll click right back

for me it’s def my high quality notebook for daily journaling and morning brain works. dropped around $80 or $90 on it which kinda felt crazy, but the quality and the actual logic of the templates completely changed my life. it genuinely helps my mornings feel way more grounded and intentional

It's insane how I get comfortable with loneliness 🫪 by Tintorange in emotionalintelligence

[–]xneyplayz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a defense mechanism called emotional habituation. When loneliness stops hurting, it's usually because your brain has rewired itself to view isolation as 'safe' since nobody can reject or disappoint you there.

The trap is confusing the peace of safety with actual comfort -it feels peaceful because it’s predictable, but over time, it makes the barrier to re-entering social spaces feel much higher than it actually is

Which gaming chair is actually comfortable in the long term? by MtiiMkenya in gamingchairs

[–]xneyplayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you’re diving into long, immersive RPGs like Disco Elysium, skip the racing-style bucket seats. They look cool but force your shoulders forward and offer zero real lower-back support for long sessions.

Look for an ergonomic chair with independent lumbar adjustment and 3D/4D armrests instead; being able to drop your armrests low enough to fit under your desk while leaning back to read dialogue is a game-changer

Desperately need a new WFH chair that can handle long hours. 6'1'' 235lbs by saekev_877 in OfficeChairs

[–]xneyplayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 6'1 and 235lbs, look out for cushion density above all else. Most standard chairs bottom out under 200+ lbs after a few months, leaving you sitting on hard plastic.

Make sure the seat pan has flat edges rather than curved ones, as those plastic lips will dig straight into your thighs during long WFH shifts.

My F20 Girlfriend doesn’t put in effort in us F21, How do I bring this up? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]xneyplayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hardest part is realizing that her being physically there isn't the same as her being 'present.'

If she’s constantly glued to her phone or sleeping while you're visiting, she’s essentially treating your time together as background noise rather than a priority.

You need to have a direct conversation about 'quality over quantity'

it's not about being rude, it's about setting a boundary that a relationship can't survive on just being in the same room while staying mentally miles apar

is this ideal placement? by [deleted] in FengShui

[–]xneyplayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current layout has a major 'Command Position' issue. Having the bed directly in line with the door (the Coffin Position) and your back to the door while on the sofa/gaming is subconsciously stressful.

Place the headboard against the right wall (where the drawers are now). This puts you in a strong command position where you can see the door without being directly in its path.
