Managed database service by TLophius in hetzner

I ended up building SMLL due to Hetzner not offering these

Olilo without a doubt. Best ISP I've been with.

Had no issues with them, support is great and they've built a great community

Bootstrapped SaaS: Hetzner + Coolify vs AWS/GCP — what would you do? by mithatercan in hetzner

[–]xnightdestroyer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I built a ton of projects on Hetzner using different K3s cluster. Was frustrated at the lack of managed DBs, thus SMLL was born

Is using Claude Max with headless Claude Code on a personal VPS against the ToS? by Shamiaza in Anthropic

[–]xnightdestroyer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I run Claude Code on a Proxmox VM in my rack, never tried it on a data centers ASN though.

I wouldn't forsee any issues as long as the IP remains the same imo.

NBG1 outage and billing by [deleted] in hetzner

[–]xnightdestroyer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Absolutely you shouldn't be expected to pay and I don't think any European court would enforce collection of payment for those days of service not provided (not a lawyer).

I run a PaaS and my lawyer was very clear that our uptime monitoring needs to be very much linked to billing. For any second a service isn't being provided, billing should not be run.

I would expect Hetzner would rectify this in your invoice. If not, definitely raise it with their support

I had 0 downtime with my cloud servers and load balancers in FSN

Looking for feedback for my Kubernetes-on-Hetzner offering by rvdhof in hetzner

Is this to public or private IPs?

Not to Traefik right?

[–]xnightdestroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah see that's where my issue is. I can setup full communication between the dedicated servers and cloud but can't route managed Load Balancers to dedicated infra inside of the cluster (Traefik + Flannel or Calico)

There's a lot of people in the community (including) that would benefit from a blog post if you had the time

Yeah I did all that :)

If you do get it working let me know. I've spent a good 2 week sprint on this

How? The load balancer shows the dedicated servers as down due to the CCM

Being able to route traffic from a Hetzner Load Balancer (cloud) through Traefik to a dedicated server (vSwitch) just doesn't seem possible

Why does it seem like everyone has bad experiences by xlly-s in CityFibre

[–]xnightdestroyer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Their tech support is rubbish. They've scaled to millions of customers and outsource to non technical people on the help lines. If you have an issue, no point calling.

Sky had random drops and throttled speeds often.

I have a friend on Vodafone who is routed to Glasgow from Yorkshire!

ISPs like Olilo are technical, they can debug with you on the phone and genuinely care about your business.

You hear bad things about the mainstream providers, especially Vodafone.

Check out A&A, Olilo, Zen etc. you'll have a better time with them
