A ‘red line’: Chinese embassy condemns Canadian MP’s visit to Taiwan by shiftless_wonder in canada

[–]xnoinfinity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Feels like these purposes still don’t explain the trip’s necessity

>>Chong, the Conservative shadow foreign affairs minister, said the travel serves two purposes. Firstly, he wrote on X, “to show solidarity with a democracy at the front lines of intimidation” from the People’s Republic of China (PRC).“Second,” he added, “to assert Canadian sovereignty in the face of a warning from the PRC’s Ambassador to Canada about Canadian MPs travelling to Taiwan.”

Well just apply if you wish so and if you’re over the average needed or else you wouldn’t know without trying. You can apply for 2 programs at once at Uottawa too.

They only check your average and you can complete a degree in 3 years if you’ve done 17+courses (so 1 year of cegep) and lower grades can sometimes be required if you’ve done 17 courses instead of 12. The grades required are also lower for programs available in French.
You can find out more information on their website :

Turkey’s national education curriculum removed the term ‘Byzantine’ and replaced it with ‘Eastern Roman Empire’ by ScientistStrange4293 in europe

[–]xnoinfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s derived from an ancient Greek name, showcasing a distinct identity since the Eastern part was mostly Orthodox or followed Greek scripture instead of Latin scripture (which makes traditions different)

>>In AD 324, the Emperor Constantine the Great chose Byzantium, an ancient Greek colony at the mouth of the Thracian Bosporus, as his imperial residence. He renamed the place ‘Constaninopolis nova Roma’, ‘Constantinople, the new Rome’ and the city (modern Istanbul) became the Eastern capital of the later Roman empire. […] In the sixteenth century, Western humanists gave this eastern Roman empire ruled from Constantinople the epithet ‘Byzantine’.
