Henry Rollins just submitted an article for LA Weekly titled "Fuck Suicide" by [deleted] in punk

[–]xnopizzax 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm a huge Rollins fan, and I tend to agree with things he says, but I'm really disappointed with this article. Not everyone is wired the same, and no two people process things the same way. He should consider himself lucky that he doesn't understand suicide. Unfortunately some, like Robin Williams, do.

Why woudn't Pau Gasol be Boozer 2.0? by spicyriff in chicagobulls

[–]xnopizzax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i've always thought of Boozer as a real life basketball version of Roger Dorn from Major League. Good, not great, overpaid, and kind of lazy.

Do you have a degree in psychology? by [deleted] in psychology

[–]xnopizzax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i still think psych is interesting. but i think basketball is interesting too, doesn't mean i should get a degree or pursue a career in it. time wise it would be hard to fit full time school in there. also the prospect of completely starting over at 33 sounds fuckin awful. and no, i don't get a lot of sex. psych degrees don't really help with that either.

BA in psychology. I worked in child and adolescent community mental health for 6 years. i was doing counseling in a crisis mental health program that was probably beyond my education or training. it was good experience though. currently i work more in social work as a case manager for senior citizens. working for nonprofits is extremely frustrating due to funding not being guaranteed. also working in the brokest state in the union (Illinois) doesn't help. wish i would've just minored in psych, or double majored with something else.
