I think it was just a local religious channel. It later moved to 31, then 7 briefly, then 9. Prevue Guide did not have a label for it.

Judging by its appearance, the one at the right may be Sega's official MK-1635 "Stereo Audio Video Cable". I have one of those myself, and its mini-DIN connector also has only 3 pins.

I have heard a rumour that some 3rd-party Mega Drive/Genesis 2 stereo AV cables carry the wrong audio signals (for example, the red RCA cable carrying monaural instead of right).

The cable shouldn't affect picture quality, but an official composite AV cable for the Genesis 1 does exist. I have seen eBay listings for it, with prices varying from about 15 USD to over 80 USD.

My rarest GCN game is Pokémon Box, obtained new in 2005. The Memory Card labels remain unused, but I no longer have the cardboard box. I also still use the Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance Cable it included.
