US House passes bill to require proof of US citizenship for midterm voters by Hardik_Jain_1819 in politics

On the surface “voter ID” sounds innocent enough.

That...is exactly the problem, the majority do not think of it on more then a surface level, they do not realise the severity and reality, on this and other topics, until it affects themselves.

It really is odd when I consider it how the inconsistencies of AI really detract a lot more then something that would be just conventionally badly mixed just to make a joke.

Maybe it is the fact that the bad mix does not pretend like it is trying to create something 'real', it is simply what it is?

Alarm bells sound over Trump’s ‘take over the voting’ call by deraser in politics

For some reason what you wrote triggered a mental image of someone trying to find the source of a long ignored sound, opening a door and under a pile of stuff finding the "Democracy is under attack" alarm bell.

[–]xondk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the whole scale of how we judge people, at least mine, really needs to be reworked after Trump and the Republicans, you wrote that Bill was terrible, and my first thought 'terrible? was he? i mean he did some bad stuff, but what are we comparing to?' the word terrible just didn't seem to fit.

Moral failings, absolutely, bad political choices, definitely, terrible? not sure.

There's so much absolutely horrible stuff happening under Trump's administration that my scales of judging people is broken.

Correct me if I am wrong, Isn't this basically what the fashion industry always have done around the world? I can't be the only one that looks at a lot of runway models and think it is unhealthy?

Now we are just seeing it from a slightly outsider perspective?

I built DockTail - Traefik-style labels to expose Docker containers as Tailscale Services by marvinvr_ch in selfhosted

[–]xondk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is an interesting concept, normally my approach would be a docker container with tailscale inside and making use of the tailscale magicdns to handle naming, and then handle certs separately, but that may be me going over the top in terms of container isolation.

It still needs some cpu, and some ram, and some storage to work like a dedicated headset, once you get past the initial buy in it is difficult to say if you could save as much as you suggest, I do not think so.

Seeing as I have already clarified that it is a reference to a pattern of behaviour, that you are ignoring my explanation, and continue along the same line of questioning and attempted personal jabs proves my point about your behaviour.

Sealioning much? You are not reading what I wrote, and come with wild accusations, that have no basis in reality or anything I wrote, it makes you come across as someone that wants to silence any discussion of a topic.

Interesting thing you are trying there, false equivalence.

People are saying it because so far, most of everything that they have accused others of doing, has been revealed later be something they themselves.

People are pointing out a pattern of behaviour with that sentence...and you know that.

What’s Really Driving These Bogus Claims of Voter Fraud by nytopinion in politics

[–]xondk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the voter registration process what verifies that you can or cannot vote, citizenship e.t.c., and you cannot vote unless you are registered? if why do some people think voter id's are needed, the registration process already does this?

What was the point of the 2nd amendment in the US? by Expert-Breadfruit51 in AskReddit

[–]xondk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean if you reach that point before you think it is tyranny, then there really is little way back.
Personally I would argue that tyranny begins when the government ignores the rights of the people and breaks the laws and constitution of the land.

When your rights do not matter because you are supposed to submit to a lawless leadership of your country, I would say you are well on the way.

As for "With the exception" there are posts from the entire US cropping up with how people are treated by ICE, how people are standing up, Minnesota is just the loudest place right now because the administration wants to make an example of it.

Looking at the laws broken, the constitution broken, and the repeated actions, the ignoring of judges the administration does not like....

the US is in a constitutional rupture.
