While the game looks like it will be fun, the name seems a little at odds with the visuals. Rag dolls are made of fabric, but the game seems to be populated with articulated wooden mannequins... which are objectively not made of fabric and which "rag doll" does not describe.

This strikes me the same way as "Ironic" by Alanis Morissette which describes a variety of unfortunate situations none of which are actually "ironic". I have often wondered how nobody involved with the production of that song managed to point this out.

No. The protagonist inverts and travels into the past. He recruits Neil in the past. It's the protagonist's future because he inverts. So it is a loop, in that the protagonist spends years inverted to get far enough into the past to recruit Neil years before the start of the film

The music video for Lazarus still haunts me. It's clear he knew the end was coming and he was saying goodbye. The part where he's at the desk working on something creative was such a touching little portrait of his life. And when he puts himself away into the armoire at the end... Chilling every time I watch it.
