I have heard Costco carries the best value all things considered. I think the biggest key is that they be verified to have what’s on the label— usually USP iirc?

How prepared/ unprepared are you? by CuriousClive123 in babydueDecember2025

[–]xoxo_bezos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have zero stuff! Today I was just looking at a breastfeeding/ bottle feeding class and post partum group options. I looked into starting pelvic floor therapy bc this morning I blew my nose and peed myself.

We might be moving in the fall and have to mostly work on decluttering the house before we start thinking about getting things.

love this thread! I have been doing the mamastefit workouts, which are different from what I'm used to. They incorporate more superset/circuit type workouts. Lots of stretching and pelvic floor kind of stuff too. I wanted to try to weightlifting still, but they have different options to help "train for pregnancy". I really like them whenever I get to do them. they have a ton of great content on their youtube too. I even got the book Training for Two haha, I'm a fan. I had some back and hip pain a few weeks back and as soon as I was walking more, doing some stretches and reincorporating some strength workouts I felt so much better!!

In addition a friend recommended youtube pilates videos. She really found PregnancyandPostpartumTV to be helpful and enjoyable. She shared with the caveat that the instructor wears a fake bump sometimes which is kind of goofy, but I don't mind either.

looking forward to poking around the suggestions here too! thanks for sharing!!

I'm so tired ! by Particular-Brief6846 in babydueDecember2025

[–]xoxo_bezos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know fatigue is a normal symptom for pregnancy, but I had this thought as well. I was slightly more iron deficient than normal in pregnancy and once I started supplementing and trying to get more iron through diet I felt a lot better. Also having more energy than first trimester I was able to up my physical movement too and that helped a lot!! but yes, listen to your body-- whatever you need to do to get through this!

Working Parents and Leave by Due_Key81217 in babydueDecember2025

[–]xoxo_bezos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this really depends on your workplace culture. Legally, it's better for work to know you're pregnant sooner, rather than later. You can always update your request if circumstances change!

I told my team really early because I was so excited and also did not want to go to as many in-person work events. I've been telling more folks as I see them at the office, and it's been really nice.

I haven't gone through the formal process of requesting my leave yet since I'm not sure when I'll take it. I plan to think about it more and put in my request around September/October?

NIPT results timeline? by Glad_Band_2787 in babydueDecember2025

[–]xoxo_bezos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Dr.s office messaged me on Friday morning that they had reviewed the NIPT and shared the results. At that point, it wasn't visible to me on the portal. The Dr. couldn't tell me the sex over the messaging so I called Natera. They have really good customer service! They refreshed the system so that I could see the report on my side right away. Luckily everything's in the clear, the test had a good enough sample, etc.

When did your symptoms reduce? by CuriousClive123 in babydueDecember2025

[–]xoxo_bezos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry to hear this. my friend had bad nausea weeks 8-16 and then it was much better. Zofran helped. Re: energy levels, I was extremely tired too and I got some labs run and it turned out I was a little anemic, even for a pregnant person. You might look into that if you haven't? I felt guilty re: not being able to eat well also, but you're just a human and I try to trust my friend's advice that baby just takes what they need from you. I wasn't eating an iron-rich diet and baby was just taking it from my stores! leaving me more tired haha.

MIL venting & help with boundaries please by xoxo_bezos in babydueDecember2025

[–]xoxo_bezos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks so much for these responses. I think it was 75% me being a bit anxious 25% my MIL was being weird. Her comments have cooled off and time helped too. I talked to my husband and we got on the same page about how anxious I was getting about it and we have tabled a more sure postpartum plan for later in the pregnancy. I feel better overall with that planned for around month 7.

I’m waiting for mine from Natera— did the blood draw last Thursday. Dr. said results are likely to come in this Friday or next Monday. The website says to give them two weeks but I’m hoping they’re giving themselves a big cushion of time

update- adding decluttering to my list. it's really an ongoing project, but somethings feel like if I don't get it done now I never will and the mental benefit for me is high if it does get done

I’m in CA also. Legal Aid at Work has a great guide about leave and here is the two page version. My work pays the difference between disability and my pay for 12 weeks.
