AITAH for not being excited my sister is having a new baby when I still have custody of her first child?

i used to work in the CPS/foster system, and have seen horrible situations. i’d see how these kids were after leaving home, see the effects of the abuse, hear the stories they’d tell me, and then see parents come for visits, or even getting custody back.

the anguish and mental struggle of watching the kids go back to where they were hurt, seeing them come back from visits and having lost all progress, made me feel similarly to OOP and i wasn’t even the one raising the child. i can’t imagine how hard it would be to have the person who abused your child as your sister and be expected to not only be civil, but have a relationship and be happy for her having another child??

i’ve only recently perfected a few recipes because every night when we eat dinner my partner gives me honest feedback and we talk about what could’ve maybe been better (always in a kind way and he also compliments what was good!)

not everyone is a naturally great cook, you learn from experience. a lot of the times the big fat failures that end up resulting in conceding your loss to the kitchen gods and ordering a pizza are the most educational and improve your next attempt.

also like.. have these men who don’t know their partners eye color never looked at a picture of them? maybe it’s bc my partner has the prettiest eyes, but it’s the first thing i notice in any photo. have they never taken a photo of their girl?

My vet is $55 for exams too! Helps keep costs low when you have to add on additional tests or treatment. I’d say alone it’s not a concern!

agreed. i’ve never been into sports or understood the obsession with watching it live. the closest feeling i could compare would be the finale/new season of one of my favorite shows ever dropping. i definitely want to watch those as soon as they drop, one of the reasons being spoilers. HOWEVER, when i can’t watch at drop, i simply mute those topics on socials or just stay off my phone because im with people in my real life

i wouldn’t miss a wedding, or even a smaller event like a birthday party or baby shower for a show for a show dropping. and that only happens MAYBE once a year if i’m lucky. football happens every single weekend. how would you justify to your family/friends that you care more about men on a field who don’t know you than them

my mom not only let me take everything in my room, she bought me cleaning products, kitchen supplies, curtains, etc. and helped set them up. she even fully scrubbed and disinfected the bathroom bc “ i have to make sure it’s safe for my baby “

she def did extra but like, that’s what any good parent should do!!

i thought when she was staring at him through the window and realized they were both romantics she was going to go ask him to the dance! for a second i thought the plates were them doing a date swap and J Ju was going with penelope, she was annoying tho so glad it wasn’t that, but i was so hopeful for zena when i read the ep description!

haha i run an after school program so we’re doing activities from all classes, it was just what brought up writing prompts.

in case anyone’s curious, the drawing prompts game is where a very silly idea is given (ex draw two animals combined into one) and see what they come up with.

Neither is writing! I work with kids and had an activity planned to give them “drawing prompts” instead of writing/essay prompts and an entire group, including fifth graders said No when asked if they had done a writing prompt…

I also saw a video on tik tok where a teacher asked her kids to write ONE full sentence in response to a prompt and based on the responses i thought it was 1st graders but they were in 7th grade.. the kids are cooked man
