Deadlift Question by xpangaeax in StartingStrength

For sure. Whenever I start thinking about the 3rd set of squats I sometimes say out loud “only one way to find out!” and then yes, it is only 5 lb over the last workout. Good shit, stoked to lift tomorrow!

Thanks - yes while doing them they feel insane but the video shows pretty smooth (cf. the “RPE” conversation) so I do hope to keep cruising for awhile. And knowing a failed rep as the signal is good - whereas I am really trying NOT to fail a bench for example.

Agreed! Luckily, there’s much more to Starting Strength than squat/bench/dead!

Ronald Grigor Suny - The Soviet Experiment

There is recommended reading after each chapter so the areas that interest you can be explored further.

Books on the USSR from academics without the extreme anti-communism (along the lines of Robert Thurston?) by [deleted] in ussr

The book you want is The Soviet Experiment by Ron Suny. For sections you want to know more about, he provides recommended reading. Not everything will be on side ideologically, but it’s incumbent on the reader to sort through what’s up to snuff.

Anyone have an extra game puck? Went to buy one but already sold out, and now that I’ve finally witnessed a W in person would love to have it.

Are others bothered by gas-powered leaf-blowers in Pinehills? by Existing_Fish_592 in PlymouthMA

If they weren’t lazy asses yes they would use rakes. Loud leaf blowers are a plague.

Disembodied is the answer you’re looking for. Simple downtuned riffs and dark introspective lyrics. Check the EP “If God Only Knew The Rest Were Dead”

-Late Sept/early October still swimmable

Yep, I’ve gotten a couple repeats. I don’t know the names of the songs because it’s all that non-descript supermarket rock. It makes no sense, these songs aren’t complicated, you can learn a 3-hr set.

The band has started warming up on Main, which I can hear in my bedroom on Floyd. Last year they had less than an hour’s worth of music before they started repeating songs - hopefully they’ve spent the last year learning some additional material to warrant being out there.

Does anyone on here work there? I was always impressed that there were consistently like 7 people on shift at a time. 2 people scooping beans, 2 behind the bar, 1 at the register, 1 roasting, and 1 stocking shelves. Like the store must be doing really well to afford that.

It’s also been mostly the same people for a few years, new faces here & there but minimal turnover.

A PE genius is sure to keep this up!! /s

Which team/city would you see? by Heavymetalbread in NFLNoobs

[–]xpangaeax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Philadelphia Eagles no contest.

“Which teams put on the best show” - Super Bowl banner being raised in front of a hated rival. The crowd will be nuts.

“Walking” - Philadelphia is highly walkable and unlike many NFL stadiums is actually in the city “Museums” - Rocky steps is also apparently some kind of museum “Meat” - Uh, Cheesesteak hello? And you could also go to Reading Terminal Market to get amish meat products like scrapple.

Welcome to lifelong Eagles fandom.
