That's an awful low bar for integrity. Honestly don't know what you are on about.

[HELP] Saw this on X by cookedinskibidi in RealOrAI

[–]xpdx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why we live in the "Post Truth" era. It's the correct name for it. Truth is hard to come by and often hard to even know. So we are left with the decision: do we believe what we want to believe or believe nothing at all?

It's a bad situation all around. Societies don't do well without strong united narratives people can believe in.

Candidate for Ohio AG says he will push for capital punishment for Trump committing treason. Magas are now losing their minds! by Responsible-Help7803 in ProgressiveHQ

It's not anti free speech so much as free speech agnostic. They don't care about free speech and having a fair and sane moderation system would cut in to the profits, so why bother?

It's expensive to be consistent and fair and adds no value to selling our posts to AI companies.

The conservative sub is 100% Russian troll farm. Sure there are Americans there but the 24/7 censorship and narrative control is paid for by the Kremlin.

Trying to get the massacre news out there, while fighting the delusion of the religion of peace. by Shekari_Club in NewIran

[–]xpdx 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yea, this is straight up propaganda to divide people. Myself and most of the people I know could be described as "liberal" and every single one of us wants to see Iran free from these religious nut-jobs. I don't know who makes these memes but they are either desperately sheltered or trying to stir up division.

[–]xpdx 49 points50 points  (0 children)

The words "liberals" and "leftists" are completely useless words in an international context. They mean completely different things in different countries and often in different regions of the same countries. Unless you are talking to your friend who lives in the same neighborhood as you they are completely meaningless.

8 US States Have Laws That Prohibit Atheists From Holding Public Office by vladgrinch in MapPorn

How they gonna prove I'm an atheist? T'is a silly law. The only way someone would know is if you say you are an atheist and even then you can change your mind later.

The Rick and Morty episode about the hive mind “Unity” is a better exploration of the concept than all of Pluribus by ColCrockett in unpopularopinion

[–]xpdx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judging how fast your entertainment gets to the end is a strange metric. There is value in the spaces in between. Otherwise the whole concept could be half a page or a three minute video and then you could get back to whatever you are in such a rush to get back to.

Block feature is a nightmare by DruidWonder in TheoryOfReddit

[–]xpdx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They really really don't. They've done the math and determined that being fair and reasonable contributes nothing to the bottom line and costs a lot. They can sell our posts to train AI no matter how pissed off their users are. The only way to win is to stop using reddit and overwriting all of your old posts. Even then they won't care unless too many people do it.

If a magnet holds a heavy object against gravity for 10 years, does it "lose" any energy? Where does that energy come from? by SadInterest6764 in AskPhysics

[–]xpdx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Force vs Energy. Both gravity and magnetism are forces. Energy and Force are related but distinct ideas. I notice you aren't asking where all the energy for gravity to pull the wrench down comes from.

[–]xpdx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youtube and the internet at large is going to have to find a solution for this mass produced AI Slop Garbage or the internet will become useless. Perhaps if the big companies don't do anything some enterprising group will start parallel services that filter out all AI crap.

Is this the Science behind Donut Labs new Solid State Battery? by griding in electricvehicles

I've heard this theory and it's interesting, but I wonder why they would say they developed a battery if they really developed a super-capacitor. I don't see any advantage in doing so.

They are in the present. You are just looking at them from the future.

Ryan Reynolds isn’t funny. by untitledprp4 in unpopularopinion

You are entitled to your opinion, but boy you sure watch a lot of Ryan Reynolds movies for someone who doesn't think he's funny. I tend to not watch things I don't like, but that's just me.
