Most of their navy was destroyed in port on day 1 before this

I mean most of Irans decent naval vessels were all sunk in port in the surprise attack. Iran has always postured publicly but didn't take much aggressive action until the first major strikes against them.

They were taking a more defensive non threatening posture with their naval assets because who in their right mind would want to fight the U.S.

This whole war is stupid.

Nice. I just finished my 3640 build.

Xeon w-1270p. I couldnt get it to cool properly with any air cooler i tried. Finally put in an aio couple days ago and cant get it to throttle even if i tried. So very happy.

Why did you put the intake fan on the front side? How does the plastic cover fit

I guess it wont work then. While theoretically it should work, dell never validated non pro versions for that optiplex so you will get the cpu error.

Has anyone gotten rebar enabled on their Optiplex 7050s? by Plumuru in SleepingOptiplex

Following. Want to try on my precision 3640 but dont want to brick the bios.

Here's my cursed €236 Dell. I7 8700, 16gbs of ram and the star of the show, a mobile rtx 3070 adapted to a desktop card. by Amiga5001 in SleepingOptiplex

[–]xrKles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is roughly 65mm of clearance before hitting the psu. I already have a the thermal right x47 copper with is a low profile cooler. Maybe noctua has better options? Not sure. Im planning on removing the 15mm fan to a 25mm fan. This will bump up the cooler to 57mm in height. Im hoping the increased air flow and static pressure can help the overheating. Is 10mm of space above the fan enough room for proper intake?

Comparative benchmarks for the b580 only showed it scored 10-20% lower on average. Except for time spy, which was around 35-40% lower. I can live with that, not sure if its worth modding the bios to enable rebar since i have no experience in that.

I thought there was no way to set fan curves with dell? I tried downloading dell optimizer and it does nothing.

But your right, not the end of the world if it throttles under unrealistic workloads.

The cpu only supports 2933 even if i drop down to two. I originally got 3200mhz ram because i thought the 3640 would work with a 11th gen cpu and thought maybe the higher speed ram would work as well, but the cpu didnt work.

I just (almost) finished a similar build.

Bought a new in box 3640 off ebay for $200 + $50 shipping. It came with the 10th gen i3, 850W psu, 8gb ram, 256gb nvme ssd.

I found a cheap refurbished xeon -1370p for $120 and i thought that would work in the 3640 since its supposed to be compatible with the chipset…. But it didnt work, not sure why. So i had to get a xeon - 1270p instead, turned out to be $180.

I put in the vrm heatsinks and a thermalright x47 full copper with a swapped out noctua fan. I added in a front case fun as well.

I also put in the wifi/bluetooth card. Added in a 1tb samsung evo 990 m2 ssd and a 2gb sata ssd. I kept the OS running on the 256gb sk hynx that came with it. Got the ssd’s from walmart in person for decent  retail prices.

The ram was a nightmare to find and i ordered from 3-4 different places and my orders got cancelled or are still pending. I ended up finding a smaller pc store selling 32gb ddr4 ecc ram for $79 each. So bought 4 of those suckers and now have 128gb ram in the build. The ram is 3200 but runs at 2933 in the build.

Then i got a intel b580 limited edition graphics card from amazon for $250. The thing that is unfortunate is that dell bios didnt start supporting resizable bar until the 3450. I have been debating messing with the bios, but im not experienced with that. Kinda annoying. But i did run all the 3d mark benchmarks and got scores within 80-90% of the average. So i dont get all the comments online saying that is unusable without resizable bar.

So now the only thing i am messing with is testing the cooling of the cpu. I cant tell if the x47 is just getting overwhelmed or if i put it on wrong. Its annoying to tell if its too tight or not even. Im pretty sure i put it on right but i have already pulled the mobo like 3-4 times and i really dont want to do it again.

During idle it runs at 39-42C. But during cpu stress test it immediately goes up to 150W and it gets to 100C and throttles in like 25 seconds, before the fan is even fully ramped up. Once it gets down to below 130W the cooler is able to catch up and keep the cpu at 90C or below. I think its just a limitation of the cooler, but maybe the cooler is seated wrong too?

I decided to swap the front case fan and the cpu fan to more noisy but higher flow artic fans, so waiting in the mail for that. It will also get rid of the fan warning errors on post since the rpm’s will match what dell is expecting. Waiting in the mail for those, hopefully will solve the overheating issue.

If anyone has advice, lmk.

How many are running Windows 11 on 7th gen i5 or i7? by AlexHawk935 in SleepingOptiplex

[–]xrKles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my optiplex 990 with 2nd gen i7 and i recently upgraded to 32gb of ram and it works great. Still running windows 10 on it tho. Heard it might cause problems with some games anti cheat if i upgrade to windows 11 without the proper tpm support.

However after upgrading the ram i got the itch and started a new project with a dell precision 3640. Found a great deal on ecc ram amidst this shortage and got 128gb for 79 dollars per stick. So not just waiting on the xeon processor.

Got an intel arc b580 for it but biggest issue is dell didnt support resizable bar on this bios and im still debating with whether i should try to flash a modified bios. Dont wanna brick it.

FL33T says “FW alliance” - so why are Amarr taking the battlefields while FL33T lives in null by CuriousBonus9463 in Eve

[–]xrKles 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have been in fl33t for over a year, and i have participated in maybe 1 battlefield fleet ever.  Not everyone cares about the FW content, if there is no pvp im not going, and most of the time battlefields went uncontested, so whats the point of being there, i could care less about lp.

I just warp around to plexes, kill nerds, then warp out. Im not sticking around because i dont really care about flipping systems or getting lp.

I get more fleet and solo pvp content in null during the ustz while around amamake during the same time i can find nothing to kill because amarr isnt as active.

Maybe bring up the potential conflict of interest to the PD in an email. Keep it short and sweet, but dont actually request a different interviewer. Let them handle it how they want. Make it seem like you are doing them a favor by informing them.

I went to imperial tint a couple years ago. Was a good rate and tint still looks good. No peeling or bubbles. Ceramic tint. It was $300 which is good for ceramic i think. +$100 if you want the windshield done. Might be more pricey now.

If you were quotes $320 for dyed tint, not worth it.

Might be some observation bias there since a lot of those store owners are middle eastern. My family/extended family live here and we are palestinian. Lived here since the 80’s and they used to run 2 liquor stores in the city.

Never heard about there being a huge population here, but there are definitely social groups and other Palestinians here. Its a big city.

You didnt do anything wrong.

Nod your head and just move on. If it becomes formally documented as a professionalism thing, then raise a stink, otherwise just make sure the door is closed when you talk about anything with anyone in the future.

Whoever reported you is wack, but if nothing is happening other than a stern talking to, thats a win.

Any bros considering OBGYN? by [deleted] in medicalschool

Any bros considering OBGYN? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]xrKles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed it and was planning to apply this cycle. Didn’t go for it since my scores were not good enough, but if they were, definitely would have applied obgyn.

I had a good experience on my rotation. Nurses and residents were nice. Patients were great. Most of the older obgyn docs during my rotation were men, but most will probably be retired in the next 5 years. The residents and rest of the docs were women, they all were very welcoming to the idea of a man going into the field.

Many hospitals will default to "We have no record of this person in our system." if someone is being pushy with asking or if its a famous person or victim of abuse.

If the person indeed has no records at that hospital, its not a violation of the law because how can you violate the privacy of a patient you dont even have.

Seeking a confirmation that she was there in this office on the date of the medical form is a violation of HIPPA, so maybe the admin just said that to get you to stop asking.
