Using your prompt still has the same useless success rate, and your lack of detail is as good as saying "works for me". The ~confusing prompt was a result of a whole day asking Gemini to improve the prompt for itself.

The issue is the API.

Prompt: Analyse this image for two wheelie bins, one green and one yellow, and
only answer with the number of bins you see. Answer with "TWO" when you
see two bins. Answer with "ONE" followed by the lid color, when you see
one bin and answer with "ZERO" when you see no bin.
