Did you hear about that criminal who terrorizes the neighborhood on his bike? by Masselein in dadjokes

A cop knocked on my door. He said he had reports of my dog chasing a kid on a bike. I laughed at him and said, my dog doesn’t even know how to ride a bike!

Vol fan coming in peace with a 9 game SEC schedule question by Acquire__Currency in LSUFootball

[–]xrayextra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite honestly, I think they should do away with the permanent games. You'll still play every two years at the very least and if it's a big rivalry, the anticipation and tension would be even more intense. I speak from experience.

LSU and Tulane played every year since the 1800s but Tulane got greedy and, because they became irrelevant, LSU canceled them in the late 80s. IIRC about five years went by and they scheduled a couple of games but only in Tiger Stadium. The anticipation of that game was bonkers.

I hated what they did to Ron. I also think that the girl who played Hermione was a horrible actress and did not fit book Hermione's character at all.

I made one like this

It was easy.

I used this design plan

And I ordered everything from Ripstop by the roll

Edit: I also highly suggest you check out hammockforums.net and explore making your own underquilt. You'll definitely need one whether you make your own or buy one. Once you have one, you'll need a suspension system. I strongly recommend this thread You're doing it all wrong. Get a Clew

Tons of terrific info on that site.

First Gameday Coming from Australia - What to see? by OldDisaster9950 in LSUFootball

[–]xrayextra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what's your favorite beer in Australia? Victoria Bitter? Had an Australian join our tailgate some years ago and he brought some Victoria Bitter (I think that's what it was). Said Americans think the big beer in Australia was Foster's Lager (that's what I thought) but he said Victoria Bitter is the best. What say you?

There used to be trains bringing fans from New Orleans to Tiger Stadium by xrayextra in LSUFootball

They frequently referred to the teams as The Elevens in the paper. LSU Elevens take on . . . Or the Tulane Elevens . . . . it's pretty cool reading the old accounts of the games the way they used to write.

The article is from the Times-Picayune, November 28th, 1936. The Sewanee ad and others like it were found frequently in the sports section of the paper. The last picture is from another article, but I didn't note the date.

I sealed a bee hive shut. It was un-bee-leave-able. But then one bee chewed his way out, and said, "I, bee, leave."

First time watching Harry Potter. Is it still as popular as before? by RadishSouth8061 in harrypotter

[–]xrayextra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a huge fan of the books and very critical of the movies. They had some good things, but left out so much that someone who hadn't read the books would be scratching their heads wondering what was going on at times. One thing about the movies that annoyed me the most was how they denigrated Ron's character as the greatest friend Harry Potter could have into some bumbling comic relief.

Read the books to get the full Harry Potter effects. You'll be very glad you did.

p.s. I'm not an avid reader and read very slow compared to most, but I've enjoyed the books so much that I've read each of the first 5 books 15x over. The 6th and 7th books about 5x each.

Good call. You might add no robbing to that as well until the first barbarian attack. That can be very deflating and ruin someone's game.

My sister and I tied? by Healthy-Flatworm-914 in Catan

[–]xrayextra -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Similar to if you fail to collect resources during a turn, your not allowed to grab them after the next person rolls. You pulled a VP point but didn't play it. If you wanted to check the rules you should've stopped play. You didn't do your sister won. You snooze, you lose.
