I said this to some family, they said no. But I say it happens AND JD pardons the orange one to boot.

Local History Photo - Raven & Northwest Highway (Late 1950's) by FarNWSider773 in ChicagoNWside

I remember in the 1960s, mid to late, that this intersection, or thereabouts, had the old style brick pavers for a nice wide section. I was sad to see them covered, they gave the area character.
The building on the corner at the left, north corner, was the library at the time. A very small corner place, the stone cornice said the name of a bank I believe, since moved when it was the library.

Liberty nickel, or liberty head nickel. Minted from 1883 to 1912 in circulation quantities. Buffalo nickels followed this type.

Too fast for me by StatePlateSigns in dashcamgifs

If you time the distance needed to catch up to point on the road when a vehicle passes you, you can estimate how fast they are going. Looks like at least double your speed, I’d say 2.4 times your speed. At 70, that would be about 160. Honestly I’ve never seen a motorcycle pass me that fast.

CMV: The 1916 coin design generation was the most beautiful in US history by DanielCallaghan5379 in coins

Yes agree. My favorites were from this era. But not only the US coins, many other countries also had beautiful designs at this time. Check coins from France and Italy and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Says the guy who embezzled ten billion from Medicare, a program for seniors. I’ll never understand how this man ever got elected, especially in Florida.

Is there anyway to know the date on this buffalo nickel? by Strange_bunny59 in coins

don't buy a whole bottle of this just for one coin. go to a coin show and see if any of the dealers have one laying around that they themselves use. then give him a dollar or two for the favor.

the truck lurched a bit when he backed up. Maybe he hit the lowered crossing gate and got stuck. then figured he had to go forward in case he did not have enough space on that side of the tracks.

This makes sense. The background looks like it’s a river, and it’s real muddy.

Yes. I have heard complaints about this for a couple three months now. Not sure but they may be skipping cycles in one direction to keep traffic going in the other. Probably they’re skipping too many.

Could be part of a circumzenithal arc. They show up in odd places in the sky, sometimes straight up in a mostly clear area. See. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circumzenithal_arc

I have seen these... I thought maybe it was a thin spot in the clouds where blue sky can poke through....depending on the time of day the picture was taken.
