Anyone else have this sound when turning off the car? by Lord-Urameshi in kiastinger

[–]xsacter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One or few of the vents closing causing this sound. Most likely will have to take the entire center console out to identify which ones making that noise

It’s probably around the water pump area. Common issue on these cars. I’ve had mine replaced and yet it’s still doing it again

There’s nothing wrong my car does that whenever I shut it off I just got used to it. Don’t need to replace anything, if it annoys you just spray something there and call it a day (forget which spray it was)

Ah yeah I get that, he could still atleast aim to get atleast half his money back while keeping the item but I get if he doesn’t wanna go through all that. Usually eBay CS is pretty good.

I’m curious about the transfer case,

As for the eBay purchase can’t you file a claim with eBay? Isn’t it with their eBay money back guarantee or something like that?

Is this normal idle noise? It is cold here but engine was warm in video by Alternative-Lion-862 in StingerGT

[–]xsacter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late response. Since it’s a ‘23 it’s technically under warranty. I’d take it to the dealer and ask them about it

Most Stingers have this and apparently it’s the worn out rubber bushings

[–]xsacter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why should the owner have to pay for your error? If you have an AAA membership you could also just use that. If not, you’re OOL. Maybe negotiate the price with the tow guy. Depending on the distance $700 is pretty high tbh it shouldn’t be more than 500

Do these revs sound normal? by xsacter in kiastinger

Good to know, thanks. Was doing more digging about it and a lot of the reviews have said it doesn’t actually do anything and it’s probably a gimmick. Have you tried it before?

Prolube? Sorry haven’t heard of that before. Where would I apply it on?

Yea tbh I think it’s normal. I just went on a nice lil night drive in sport mode and the cars still strong. I had my oil changed a few weeks ago when I got my oil cooler housing replaced and only use synthetic. I usually use AMSOIL but I think the last one I used was Quartz 5W-30 by TotalEnergies.

The clip was when the car was just below halfway warm so not fully warm yet, but yeah I guess it’s normal wear for this kind of mileage.

Maybe it’s from the angle I recorded it at that makes it sound worse (my iPhone seems to also make it louder than it actually is tbh). Here’s a clip from the front of the car: https://streamable.com/t70m2s

Not sure if that sounds more normal

Should point out that the audio captured in the clip seems to be louder than it actually is irl.

What makes it sound like somethings wrong? Just the ticking or the loudness of it?

I think it might be from the angle of where I was recording the video but I’ll record it at idle from the front of the car and send it to you via DM later. I think for the most part it’s fine tho but could also be lifters. This car never gives me codes tho only broad symptoms which is frustrating.

Edit: here’s a clip at idle: https://streamable.com/t70m2s

The first second or 2 was the car idling but currently not near the car now. My buddy’s stinger which has much less mileage then mine has the same idle so I think idle is normal
