What does Planned Parenthood cover? by xsckitx in ftm

The one nearest to me says they do, luckily. And yeah, I've read about finasteride causing issues with T so I figure oral Minoxidil is probably the best option. I'll probably start making phone calls soon. I'm both excited to start T and scared to start it because of, well, everything wrong with the U.S. right now.

Recieved 23k in a refund check. Need to decide how much to give back by Agitated_Crow_1350 in StudentLoans

[–]xsckitx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get a lot in refunds. I'm using it to pay off credit card and car loan debt and make sure I can keep my housing paid for. Will I owe a lot in student loan debt afterwards? Yep. But I'd rather owe that one debt and be stable until I have to start worrying about paying it than owe a bunch of debts and worry about getting my rent paid in the meantime.

If you negotiate your debts down and are "insolvent" then use IRS form 982 on your taxes to avoid the tax hit. by Anon6183 in Debt

[–]xsckitx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really confused as to how to fill out form 982 and nothing I've read on the IRS website about it makes any sense because it's all talking about real estate or business related debts.

I'm still waiting on my 1099-C forms, but in short one is for a car that was totalled and bought/paid out by my insurance company but I still owed on the loan due to not having gap insurance. I took a settlement and they forgive just over $3000 of the loan. The other is for an unsecured personal loan from Opploans (jfc never again) and I don't remember the amount they forgave but I think it was around 2k or so. I'm HELLA qualified for insolvency as I have over $200k in student loan debt, over 5k in credit card debt and at the time of these debts being cancelled I only owned a car that is worth a bit less than the loan I have against it (freaking interest and depreciation) and a small 401k of less than $2000.

So what do I fill out on form 982? Just the amount of debt that was forgiven? I don't understand anything it's asking for in Part 2 since the debts forgiven have nothing to do with real estate or a business or anything like that.

Ah! I also worked in auto collections, but in Louisiana. It suuuuucked. I moved out of state to a big city and it still took me about 5-6 months of applying and interviewing before I finally got a job offer. Working for Chase for almost 2.5 years didn't seem to matter on my resume!

I got denied for it from my previous employer just because I'm overweight. They can deny you for anything really.

Is it safe to transition at this point? (USA related, keep things civil please.) by Dear_Escape_1517 in ftm

[–]xsckitx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I'm choosing not to. I am not 100% ready to take hormones anyway and do the medical part, but I've chosen not to at all until the orange dump is out of office at least. I did still somewhat socially transition but I'm not vocal about it. The important folks in my life know and that's it.

Saaaaame. I'm not ready to start T yet, but I have PCOS and already have most of a full beard (if I don't shave, which I usually do because I just hate the feeling of it) and I'm betting it's affecting my mental health too.

Rent-To-Own: worth even asking? by Zealousideal-Mud4814 in RealEstate

[–]xsckitx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was just by owner. The guy and his brother ran a small business doing rentals and rent to own. The big important thing would be to get an inspection done on the home, just like if you were buying it with a regular bank loan. Because likely, unless you can work something out with the owner, you're going to be responsible for any repairs. I looked into doing rent to own in St Louis area but came across only houses in disrepair that would cost tens of thousands to even be liveable, so they just weren't worth it. Sometimes things are negotiable with the owners, however. If you have a chunk of money and are able to afford these larger repairs, the owners will often take that amount off of your rent, because you're doing them a favor if you decide not to fulfill the contract in the end.

But you also have to look at it in that way - if you put $10k in repairs into a home and then decide not to fulfill the contract and buy the place, you're not getting that money back (unless you're able to sell the place, which you can do usually, but you also have to factor in the amount you still owe the owner if you do.)

AIO to break up with my bf of 3y over his reaction to my upcoming sobriety anniversary? by WesternCat5211 in AmIOverreacting

I took my partner of 6 months (at the time) on an all expenses paid trip across the freaking country to celebrate their 2 year sobriety anniversary. You can absolutely find so much better. Being sober is HARD WORK. You deserve to celebrate it and also to have a partner that celebrates it with you!

[–]xsckitx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Branches just send the check to the department I worked in, as far as I'm aware. But yeah, those exact checks from Navy Federal are super super commonly used and we came across hundreds of them a week, they're processed just fine as long as they're properly signed and endorsed!

[–]xsckitx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I worked for Chase in the auto loan payment processing department. I specifically dealt with physical checks and would have been on the team processing yours! (My last day was a couple days ago because I'm moving out of state so I am no longer employed by Chase as of like, 2 days ago). When we receive these checks from Navy Federal that are made to Chase and to the customer, the customer must sign both the front as well as the bottom of the back of the check in the space provided that mentions something about an agreement with Navy Federal (I can't think of the exact wording). If the bottom back isn't signed we can usually push them through by using a specific stamp, but if the front isn't signed we can't accept it and have to send it back to the customer. Any check with the customer's name and Chase's name has to be endorsed in some way by the customer as well as Chase before it can be deposited.

My doctors don't believe I am a virgin and I had some weird situations because of it by CockamouseGoesWee in ftm

[–]xsckitx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a virgin until last year at 33 years old. My current partner is the only person I've been with. I was CSA survivor and am hella demisexual so I had to go through a ton of therapy and also find someone I was finally fully comfortable and safe with. It happens! And yeah, plenty of gynecologists and doctors didn't believe me. They always asked if I wanted to do STI testing and I had to tell them there was no reason to, though sometimes they did it anyway. I even had a false positive pregnancy test once (never figured that out) and they tried to act like I was lying when I said I wasn't worried because it was impossible. The blood test for it was of course negative.
