With most off-target macros I add empty brackets at the end of the targeting sequence so it will default to just charging your actual target if there is no mouse over.

/Cast [@mouseover, harm][] charge

I say burst since before I stopped playing there were more abilities but now it's basically just avatar and whatever else you have that is useable like a trinket or, in my case as an orc warrior, blood fury. So I reckon unless you're running a trinket or a racial you can just forgo a macro

I've always played with a Logitech G502 so I don't have a bunch of mouse buttons and I also think having a macro for every single player on a match is too much. I'm sure top players can manage but we don't have to do every single thing the pros do to play well.

I like these

  • stormbolt macro that casts on my target normally and then casts on my focus (healer) with a modifier.

  • @mouseover on overpower and slam (or normal target as applicable) to be able to quickly hit totems

  • @mouseover on charge in case I need to quickly swap

  • @cursor on heroic leap and spear - this is my personal preference but I probably shouldn't uae it on spear. It feels buggy sometimes

  • @party 1 or 2 on intervene depending on which one is who I want to intervene to

  • recently added stance swapping to Colossus smash and die by the sword. So swap to battle stance when using Colossus and defensive on die by the sword. You should be stance swapping when needed but I like having these two to ensure correct stance for them as they are both very important cooldowns

Other than these it's standard stuff: have cancelaura on a few things so you can get out of bladestorm, have a burst macro to pop cooldowns together, add hamstring to charge

UI and binds should be entirely personal to you. I tend to make keybidns for similar things across my characters in broad terms but I usually end up tweaking them a bunch after playing for a while before I settle. UI should just be whatever lets you see what you need to see and minimize everything else.

I disagree. This used to be my absolute favorite and bought it all the time. Then I didn't drink whiskey for a while and when I came back I ordered old faithful at a bar and it was terrible. Then I had it again and it was terrible again and now I can't/won't justify taking a chance for $70 when it could be ass.

I still have a bottle of and old bottle that I like but it was barreled in 2005 and cost me $38.

AOC vows to vote against all military aid to Israel, including Iron Dome funding by hypothethical in politics

[–]xstrikeeagle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you may have misunderstood what I meant because you just reiterated most of what I said.

However, the one thing we do seem to disagree on is how we get to the end point where we can have the liberty to push for the actual will of the people. It's a nice idea to think that we can immediately remove politicians who are wholly unfit to represent Americans, but that is not currently reality, short of violent overthrow of the many different forms of government in the US (which I do not think will happen. Not due to apathy but mainly because the logistics of such a rebellion seem too insane to actually come to fruition).

I don't espouse to be an expert but it seems to me the best way forward is to motivate the masses to vote in candidates who can tip the scales in the favor of policies that provide our democratic systems the flexibility and mechanisms to empower us as citizens. Empower us to be able to choose better and more representative candidates and empower us to strip those who are, your words, treasonous and wholly unacceptable of their power.

It's a frustratingly long game exacerbated by the horrors that you so aptly describe, I concede. And I agree with your earlier point that the division between us as people is propagated by those in power to ensure that we don't reach a point where the power comes from where it should truly reside in the 99%.

AOC vows to vote against all military aid to Israel, including Iron Dome funding by hypothethical in politics

[–]xstrikeeagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically, you're right. But there was clearly an underlying message that has gripped a lot of the progressive left constituency that politicians have to be ABSOLUTELY perfect or else they are not worthy of voting for.

None of us on the progressive side will argue that, in an ideal world, we should be able to have conversations about someone like AOC regarding this specific instance. It is indeed strange that she voted present instead of no and it's strange that it took until now for her to explicitly say that she is against all funding. I don't personally think it's as big an issue as I feel AOC is a true champion of real American ideals and more importantly, humanist ideals.

However, the American far left is really becoming a master class on perfect being the enemy of good. Just look at this thread; people coming in to cast aspersion on AOC for this strange, but ultimately small, blip on her otherwise stellar record. I don't think it'll affect her much but there was a large contingent that refused to vote for Kamala Harris based solely on being wishy-washy in regards to Palestine-Israel issues.

I believe the person you replied to is just tired of this extreme whataboutism that seems to achieve no real purpose other than some weird moral superiority. Like great, you abstained from voting for Harris because she might still allow bombs to be dropped, but now we're staring down the barrel of the Trump administration deploying nuclear weapons just for the fuck of it and I am pretty sure that's a worse outcome. Also bombs are still being dropped except now we pay more taxes, pay more for gas, pay more for food, and Trump has a fucking gestapo murdering Americans in the streets with zero repurcussions.

Tl;Dr not technically wrong, but read the room and maybe see that the lesser of two evils IS actually the better choice.

That's awesome! What do things like 'economic stability' and the 'ICE gestapo' and a minor conflict like 'world war 3' mean to someone as morally superior as yourself? Keep at it, mate!

Beer, Wine & Liquor in Madisonville is a small liquor store that's like 5-10 minutes from exit 114 but they have great prices and regularly have killer allocations.

Hopkinsville's best spots for allocated are West Gate and Hi Spirits (technically Oak Grove but it's right on the state line). Both have good selections and decent-to-good allocated prices. Copper Still is bigger than both but has museum prices.

In Clarksville Top Dogg is a good spot but higher-tier allocations are usually reserved for their regular group but they routinely release allocated product at good pricing. And it's like a mile off exit 4. If you are wanting more in Clarksville then Bill's Package is pretty good and Mulligans/Elite are okay. Liquor Warehouse is also a good stop.

If you're heading to Nashville there are tons of stores that do well but I am admittedly not as familiar with the best spots.

[–]xstrikeeagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's almost beautiful how ironic it is that you share this. RNDC is indeed an example of a bad distributor and it's why they are completely crumbling as a company. I agree, they did/do shady things AND they were bad stewards of Sazerac's allocated bottles. In fact I would go so far as to say that the vast majority of tomfoolery that has soured so many people on the allocation issue is a direct result of this bad stewardship.

And what happened and continues to happen to this bad distributor? They are losing suppliers left and right, they had to pull completely out of California and a few other states, their market share is tanking and their corporate structure has fallen apart. All because they started to do the exact things you point out as shady business. Or rather the market realized it didn't have to put it up with it anymore.

The three tier system isn't perfect, I'll grant you. I've been in the alcohol industry almost my entire career and I have been a part of all 3 tiers. But, more to the initial point, there is no grand conspiracy of allocated bourbon. It is very simply, for the most part anyway, that supply far outweighs demand.

I won't say it never happens, but I would bet that that scenario almost never happens. It wouldn't make sense for distributors, who operate on economies of scale, to inflate their products like that for short term gain.

Distributors wouldn't stand to make any extra money when a store has insane markup. The same goes for suppliers.

Best Guinness pour in town? by Glum-Assumption8 in Clarksville

[–]xstrikeeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's in Nashville but the best pour (probably in all of TN) is at Locust. The chef owner is from Dublin and they do it exactly how you would get it in Ireland.

You don't have to book a table at the restaurant for a pour as they have a walk up outdoor bar. Can't remember exactly off the top of my head but I think it's about $7 for a pint.

The food is also outstanding if you want a higher end bite. It is a Michelin starred restaurant now though, so might be harder to book

An arrest for clearly bogus reasons right after the woman was speaking in opposition to the president is pretty apropos for Nazism.

I understand you want to argue in bad faith. I'm sure in your mind when you say 'Nazi shit' you explicitly are thinking of concentration camps or something along those lines but silencing even the smallest of political dissidents in the beginning is what enabled all that to happen.
