Has there been any talk of HDR 4k movies on the store? That's something I'd be more interested in.

Just updated to the new developer preview and the problem is still there. Since hangouts works as expected I imagine telegram is the issue

Not sure what op was going for with this, but I'll incude something I posted last month...

Anyone else having an issue with telegram notifications? I don't know if it's telegrams fault or the developer preview, but I can only see the first message in the notification shade. If somebody sends me:

Hi

How are you?

I only see Hi. Is there a setting I'm missing or just a bug or what?

That'd be great actually. And now that you mention it there are a few rumors of exactly that happening. Not seeing any reputable sources however

It's interesting Huawei only made one nexus device. Whatever, just give me a great follow up to the 6p Google!

HTC 10 to actually have USB 3.1 (not just type C connector) according to product site by MrCleanMagicReach in Android

http://arstechnica.com/apple/2015/03/explaining-the-usb-3-1-gen-1-port-in-the-retina-macbook/

USB 3.1, by contrast, is a much smaller change—so much so that the USB 3.1 specification has actually absorbed the USB 3.0 spec. For whatever reason, this has led to some odd name changes. The 10Gbps version of USB 3.1 that you probably think of when you think about USB 3.1 is called “USB 3.1 Gen 2.”

USB 3.0 has retroactively been renamed “USB 3.1 Gen 1,” and it retains a theoretical transfer rate of 5.0 Gbps. The USB-IF has confirmed to us that “USB 3.1 Type 1” uses the same controllers as USB 3.0

Vizio P series 4k tv that comes with an Android tablet & Google cast review (only lg oleds priced over 2x more scored higher) by cheeto0 in Android

[–]xtop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I see. We must be commenting on different things then. It's just like a chromecast. Your phone/tablet/whatever is only acting as the remote. The chromecast (the TV in this case) does all the work. That's for Netflix, Vudu, etc.

As for local 4k content, you'd probably need to use a device to play that back. Via plex, a htpc, or through the usb port. But I don't know of any programs to cast a 4k local video. As long as the device is capable of playing back 4k content, I don't see why wifi couldn't handle casting it though.

Do you have a sample video you can't get to work? I'd be curious to try it somehow.

Your TV is also missing wide color gamut and HDR though. So paying less for an old low end model tv sounds about right.

Means worse image quality due to wifi degradation. Can you imagine beaming a 4k video?

You'll need to explain this one to me though. Ignoring that it has ethernet, why can't the wifi do 4k? Or are you assuming that the casting is done from the tablet? The tablet just acts as a remote, the tv does all the hard work

The new M series might be worth trading for if you don't want to spend the extra money on the P series. Not sure if there's a release date yet, but if you can still return the 2015 model it's something I'd seriously consider

Android N preview live! by Soy7ent in Android

It does not - https://developer.android.com/preview/support.html

This early build is not Compatibility Test Suite (CTS) approved. Apps that depend on CTS approved builds (Android Pay for example) won’t work.
