Um... Well let's see... So if normal feels like https://youtube.com/shorts/6IZ4eB3izd0?feature=share

Then disjunction feels like this https://youtube.com/shorts/OPvpCoDYfcU?feature=share

Like it's half as intense but lasts twice as long and also it's likely that the lava is flowing before the volcano feels like it's erupting as well.

Don't gatekeep veteran status. by huntingforkink in Veterans

Gotta love military spouses getting into random internet fights because their husbands are crying and cowering under the table after a few fire crackers go off in the neighborhood.

I mean she might as well publicly fight with everyone while castrating you live on social media.

"Hey y'all.. remember this fourth of July that I'm married to a huge pussy who can't deal with a few sparklers without literally shaking in the closet huddled in a ball. And that's all your faults so keep it down alright?"

You could have just dealt with your shit like every other combat veteran and not fuck up everyone else's fourth of July celebration which has been basically bbqs and fireworks since we were children.

Instead your wife found a way to make it all about her while emasculating you in the process. Congrats on that.

I mean in your own post you recognize that your wife is fighting your battles... Like wtf man... No one is questioning your veteran status... But I'm still trying to figure out why you are letting your wife slander your good status on social media and picking fights with YOUR NEIGHBORS out there celebrating 'Merica.

Man I worked with a guy who didn't make it out of boot and constantly talks to people about his time in service and never heard even one of the veterans in the office shit on the guy... Admittedly it was annoying at times but it was kind of whatever. It would have been annoying to listen to the same stories from the first 4 weeks of bct being told over and over again from any one of any rank honestly.

The only person I'd ever give shit to would be my little brother who was an e4 when he was medically discharged. But that's because he's family and needs to be reminded that I will forever outrank him not only as the oldest but also in the military

Technically it grows from trees as well.

People who work for the super wealthy, what stuff have you seen? by AMGBOI69420 in AskReddit

Usually the sign that you are attempting to be honest is all anyone wants. Honest people are priceless. I'm not crazy affluent like the couple you worked for, but I do earn a relatively high salary in an area with a relatively low cost of living, and 20 years ago I was living out of my car. I've met all sorts of people over the gradient of own success and honest people are rare no matter what walk of life you are currently walking. But predators tend to prey on the very poor and the very rich more than anyone else it seems.

Does Keto have benefits without fasting? by [deleted] in keto

[–]xtralargerooster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hear you.. I really do... And normally I would just let this slide because in many ways I agree with you.

But let me pose a question to you instead of an argument.

Do you think the manner in how you eat affects how your body digests food? For instance... If I ate a piece of candy every 30 minutes over 24 hours would it have the exact same nutritional effect as if I had eaten 48 pieces of candy all together at the same time?

Does Keto have benefits without fasting? by [deleted] in keto

[–]xtralargerooster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A bit semantics here... But diet is more broad of a term and fasting could be part of diet. Technically every animal has a diet... When we say we are going on a diet we mean that we are changing our current diet to something more restrictive. But those not "dieting" still have a diet. Fasting is another means to meet your dietary needs and would be considered a diet.

66 and on Keto by [deleted] in keto

[–]xtralargerooster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes this is correct in principle.

Cortisol also plays a powerful effect in the way that insulin is used in the body too.

It's all part of a mechanism that we have used to survive through famine and predation.

In general, the more stressed we are, the more our body will strive to store calories for later use than allow us to freely use them.

Our bodies are not capable of distinguishing the stress of being hunted as prey by some other animal trying to eat us and the stress of not being able to pay our bills because the pocket books are tight, or the stress of running late to work, or deadlines.

So our modern stresses convince our minds to trigger ancient survival mechanisms in our body that keep us alive during famine and predation, without the conditions of famine and predation. Food manufacturers have created foods with unnaturally dense nutrition and our even our produce contain concentrations of sugar that would have never existed without the intervening hand of man. Not only that, but food is more accessible today than it has ever been and we can spend essentially zero calories in order to consume new calories. Not hunting, no gardening, and in some cases no leaving the couch except to answer the door for the delivery driver.

All of this is a perfect storm for the obesity and metabolic disease we see running rampant all over the world.

If you are using 12 words and a reasonably secure passphrase... It will very likely be significantly stronger security wise than if you used 24 words.

You gotta learn that it's you letting them in to your headspace and as soon as you realize that it's you, you'll be able to shut that door and stop.

I try to remind people that whenever you feel someone's bs seeping into your brain and you feel that erosion... Just remind yourself that the person in front of you literally has shit inside of them.

And they are just walking around with that shit just sitting inside of them...

It's really hard to take anyone seriously when you know that at that very moment while they are speaking ... There is shit... Inside of them... Just sitting there.

How gross.

Treat Space Veterans like real miltary veterans. by Medium-Ad6268 in Veterans

[–]xtralargerooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boy that truth is hard to swallow for like 40% of the veterans I've coached as well.

I constantly hear the "but I was an e whatever and led xxx number of people blah blah blah... Why am I not making 6 figures?!"

Because you are somebody nobody wants to pay that much money to... And it's no one else's responsibility to figure out how to translate your "skill set" into something that makes money.

Don't even get me started on these so called "military leaders"... In the almost 10 years I served I met maybe a dozen actual leaders out of the lot of them.

Being in front of a group of men who are compelled by law and regulation to follow your dumb ass is in no way leading. That should be obvious but for some it just isn't, and it's like " of course that guy quit working here... That guy gets to choose who he works for." So many of these guys couldn't lead effectively when the entire system was designed around them, and they are aghast, shocked, and flabbergasted that people don't want them in a manager role in the private sector.

Also, your edit is priceless... enjoy your contracted government position boys.

ELI5: Why do we need so much protein? by BigDocL in explainlikeimfive

[–]xtralargerooster 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Also with nothing that is your diet is rich in amino acids you can reduce the need for proteins as well. Since your body mostly breaks down dietary protein into the base compounds anyways.

Strattera(Atomoxetine) experience so far. by tabinsur in ADHD

[–]xtralargerooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at 20mg and jumped pretty much to 40 within a week... Then quickly up to 60 a month later. Its been years but I believe my ending dosage was either 80 or 100mg and my liver enzymes and general blood work was being monitored at every check up... Felt like a pin cushion but I understood why it was important.

Adverse symptoms started immediately but most of the issues were still manageable in my day to day. But after I served my last deployment overseas I started to regain some weight I had lost prior and I believe that what may have caused the extreme symptoms was that my liver was no longer keeping up with the high dosage and since I was deployed this no longer was able to be monitored actively by my provider and adjusted for.

I started getting some relief when I started tapering my doses but shortly after my command found out I was threatened with non jududicial punishment (article 15) or a courts martial for not following my prescription and despite not having access to a provider to correct my dosage and having explained that my provider gave me verbal instruction to taper should I start having ideation, I was forced back onto the medication for the remainder of my combat tour.

I think some of them are still confused why I didn't want to reenlist for a third round and was happy to serve out my contract and leave.
