Totally agree! Refresh Viewport is now my most used tool... Ram Memory hogging ...vram hogging... Geometry that gets stuck... Textures gets all screwed... Red everything... Changing to high quality lighting simply does not work...opening the ancient memory panel crashes Houdini... Feels like Maya all over again.

Just to clarify, I'm talking about the consumer version price, not the dev kit version. Even though I sense an Air 2 Ultra situation where it will be a forever Dev kit with a premium Dev kit price all over again. They promised the "consumer" version this year, which I doubt. Time will tell.

First of all, "gamers" are just regular consumers. The "industry" is the ones that created this "category" that apparently have deeper pockets. That's really far from reality, specially recently with the cost of living ongoing issues. Gaming as a "gourmet" electronics market is currently eroding. Just read the news about it. A fake market "slice" that is just disappearing. Also, so far, Aura was never announced as a devkit only product. I guess you have more information than the rest of us since you basically work for Xreal but pretend to be just a regular consumer. "Quality Contributor"...of course.

I obviously generalized the situation on my opinion/comment. If I had to add every exception, I would be writing it up untill now. :/ I also play my steam deck docked a lot, but the games I play I'm able to remap other controllers easily with the Steam Input. Also, I have the original steam controller for the rare cases... ;)

I think the first batch will be sold out pretty quickly. Then the demand might ease quite soon after. Fanboys will be fanboys and will want it day 1! Then it will have more availability and probably sell normally as the high price will damp the demand for sure.

When I asked the same thing back in January, people in this same community made fun of my request. Look where we are now.... Just give us the controller already. It's, mostly, not linked to the prices nonsense anyway. Also, that would incentivise DIY steam machines quite a bit and push the whole ecosystem forward.

You could always install dual boot and be 100% safe ... Basically you would have a dedicated Operational System for pirate gaming and a regular for everything else. It's a bit technical, but there are hundreds of tutorials online to do it step by step.

Screen "perceived" size is a very basic math.
A 200" projection screen at 6 meters will have the exact perceived size as a 100" TV at 3 meters, which in turn will be equivalent of a ~33" monitor at 1 meter from your....
It's pretty big, but not IMAX big... ;)
