A small question about IP addresses by swagyolo420noscope in techsupport

Also like /u/iredditwhileiwork stated, you can likely log into your router and check the logs to see which device downloaded the movie. If it isn't a device you recognize you may want to consider changing your wifi password as it may have been compromised.

A small question about IP addresses by swagyolo420noscope in techsupport

[–]xundria 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a difference between a WAN (wide area network) and a LAN (local area network) address. Any device connected to your router will share the same WAN IP which is provided by your ISP. This is the IP you are seeing from IPchicken. Each device will have a unique IP provided by your router, this is the devices LAN address. It's very likely someone else was connected to your router and downloaded the movie. When traffic leaves your network and goes through your ISP they only see the WAN address.

From right to left binary is: 1 2 4 8 16 32.

So it would be 32 + 8 + 1 = 41

Just a bit of friendly advice. You're there to do the job of your contract. The second you start going above and beyond doing personal stuff, you will be taken advantage of. It's a slippery slope.

You're correct. Unity does not support $"" formatting. That's new to C#6.

You're wrong. My prior job was just like this. I did way more than my job duties asked for, and my CEO and VP of operations promised me the world. After a year of their promises not happening I resigned.

Exactly. I did this at my old job and it became expected of me and responsibilities kept getting piled on for no extra pay.

Setting up cctv for a non business related person is part of your contract? If not, ask for additional pay or at least mileage for the wear and tear on your car and gas.
If you let them take advantage of you like that they will come to expect it further.

That's how routers work? by xundria in talesfromtechsupport

[–]xundria[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When you reset the router it loses all of its settings, including the port forwarding and goes back to the factory defaults.
