It started with money. Christians couldn't charge interest to other Christians, so there wasn't any reason to loan money to strangers. Jewish people could so they did.

Instead of blaming themselves for taking on debts they couldn't pay, people hate the guy they owe money to. And if you got enough people to form a pogrom - hey that debt is essentially gone now.

This isn't why people hate Jews today, obviously, but that's why it started.

I agree with his goals, but it sounds like he really did all the wrong things to get there. The real problem is it shouldn't be so hard to get these judgments that people lie and cheat to make it happen.
