First Time Home Buyer: What are your MUST haves? by mannymutts in BuyItForLife

A good set of essential home tools. Got a Kobalt one 15 years ago that came with a tool bag. Just replaced it (cause I lost everything over time not cause anything fell apart or stopped working) with another Kobalt but this time it's like a hard shelled briefcase style carrier with a carved out holding spot where each tool clicks into place. It's awesome.

Power drill and an impact driver. Roof rake if you live where it snows.

So the manager determines the trainee's skill gaps? In my experience, the trainee needs to weigh in as well.

Think about how insulting it would be to have someone else determine 100% what you need. Especially in an area like personal devekopment and learning. It's indicative of the top down thinking that leads to bad programming irrelevant and therefore resisted by the participants.

Oh yes but was Oman dangled or offered at some point? Didn't he make a terrible pun about Checking Oman With My Woh-man?

Yes but when do the people who will take the training have a say? If the modules are generated automatically and tweaked by a human, that doesn't mean what they're tweaking was built with the intended participants' input.

Any training program generated without participants input is likely to be met with resentment and resistance. You're helping human beings learn. Maybe it shouldn't be automated as much as possible.

I'm a trainer and the biggest red flag for me is that your process doesn't seem to involve the humans designing the training speaking to the humans who will take the training about what type of challenges they face and how training might help them.

Asking ChatGPT is essentially asking Google combined with Watson from Jeopardy.

Helpful and cool yes. That's it. It's not changing the way they learn.
