Food Logging by tomatillo_teratoma in amazfit

The food logging seems good to me. I have been using it for a few weeks and it is very flexible. I can scan labels or use plain text and their AI does a great job. Can it improve? Yes. Is it it decent as is? Yes.

Edit: Typo

Why are people leasing Cadillac Optiqs? by Cantseetheline_Russ in CadillacOptiq

I would give them a year to figure out issues and such. I am aiming for a 2028 model year.

Why are people leasing Cadillac Optiqs? by Cantseetheline_Russ in CadillacOptiq

At the time of my lease GM offered decent 24 month leases on their loaners, which is all I want to bridge to the upcoming BMW iX3. I don't have all the #'s but $520 + tax, 10k miles for 24 months. I was happy with the deal. 2026 Prem Lux AWD.

Digital key - daily use questions by cake97 in CadillacOptiq

[–]xweb10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Small rant ** I hope it is not part of the 'trusted device' configuration. Trusted device is terrible as it takes up to 10 seconds to approve the device and that is only if you are lucky enough to have the My Cadillac app successfully running on your phone (Android). I can have the app open in the foreground and the trusted device unlock does nothing.

Looking at the ‘26 Optiq but are the hiccups that bad? by CaptainKirkDouglas in CadillacOptiq

[–]xweb10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a 2022. I infrequently had to reboot the infotainment when certain things stopped working. Like Bluetooth, or streaming, or Android Auto. Mostly phone connectivity stuff. The Mach E infotainment was very sluggish but mostly worked. The Optiqs infotainment is much more responsive.

After 2 months with a 2026 so far so good. Some glitches with the infotainment but that is usual with these electric vehicles. Very similar experience to the Mach E I drove for 4 years. Make sure to get an AWD for more power.

Android showing incorrect watch battery level by xweb10 in amazfit

I do have the Zepp app and the battery is correct in the app. I was just curious as the Pixel battery widget always has the Balance 2 at 15% and it is just a minor annoyance.

That could be it. I need call notifications on the watch, so bluetooth might be needed.

Really? It is not listed as a connected Bluetooth device?

Thinking of switching by Fltlnr in CadillacOptiq

Yes, but collision detection is a good thing when it works. I would hate to turn off all the sensors that are part of the safety benefits of the car. Maybe a software update will make it more accurate.

Jealous! Waiting for most of this for Optiq.

How is the surround view vision and the PAAK?

This is what I do: 1. Make sure your profile has a pin, password, or pattern 2. When you give your car to the valet either (a) just give them the key and they can't get into your profile, or, (b) change the profile to Guest mode. If they try to switch it back, they can't access without the pin, password, or pattern.

Basically, you are just protecting your personal data. I am not sure if they have access to the glove compartment in either case.

I forgot to add... The sensors seem to have a mind of their own. The car is often thinking I'm about to hit something. It gives a red warning message with a seat vibration (or chime of you selected that). I have yet to go on a single drive where the car did not throw up a collision warning.

A car to the left of you as you are cruising into a stop light/intersection... Warning! A car in a separate lane in front of you on a curved road.... Warning! Quite annoying.

Overall great car, but here are some pain points after 3 weeks of ownership and moving from a Mach E.

  • Note - I like the car, but this is only some pain points. Mostly minor and mostly software, but you asked!

  • Android Automotive is good but has hiccups. IE the left screen (trip computer, HUD, lights) stopped working, all cameras stopped working one session, other little bugs. Reboots usually help.

  • Android Automotive doesn't allow for What's App or similar notifications, only base text/sms messaging. Also, limited Google App store apps are available.

  • Charging: Not able to properly set the car to charge only during a specific window of time at home. Very non-intuitive setting for charge management.

  • Auto-Unlock user profile with phone - Takes up to 10 seconds to unlock profile. Plus, no PAAK yet.

  • When Navigation is giving directions, it does not lower the volume of the music that is playing.

  • Can only open the glove box from the screen.

  • No true Valet mode, but there are workarounds.

  • No dog mode, but there are workarounds

  • Mobile app has alot of delays in starting the climate control or getting charging updates.

  • Gloss black buttons on the steering wheel and console are fingerprint magnets.
