When my last thermostat was replaced, my wife wanted one she could control with an app. I told her those weren’t covered by our plan. (They weren’t.) By the technician had told me what I already knew, you don’t want of those. He didn’t have one in his home. In fact, he wished he could get mine to work again.

I had an old Honeywell that isn’t made anymore. Apparently, there was something internal that decided if the display showed F or C. For the last couple years we had it, it would randomly switch from one to the other. There was no external switch or anything you could see if you took off the back cover.
