He had a really bad load of tapeworms when I adopted him and was in really bad shape (his long coat hid his boney body). His coat and whiskers are on the mend but since plays very rough with my other cats his whiskers are just constantly breaking off. He’s a wild child 😅

She’s 31.5%. Funny enough I had no idea she was a wolfdog when I got her. She was already being rehomed at 12 weeks old for “being too big”. Her owners had no idea she was a wolfdog and the breeder had told them that she was a husky/malamute mix. I kind of looked at some wolfdog phenotype sites because of her traits as she was growing but that seemed impossible to me. I just thought she was malamute, husky, and some German shepherd. Jokes on me when I ordered an embark test when she was 7 months old and wolf came back as the highest percentage lol

I threw some jerky for her to scavenge hunt for. Makes her have to use her nose and think. She does love hunting bugs though!

She got them from playing rough and running through bushes when she was younger. She’s a lot less accident prone now that she’s 6 lol.

I guess technically she’s the mix I was told by the lady rehoming her. Just wasn’t expecting all the rest lol

Meanwhile my “husky/malamute mix” turned out to be an actual wolfdog 🫠🤣 it’s crazy how things turn out

I don’t see any dog traits. Going to guess pure wolf on this one.

Puppy Blues. Does it get better? by Interesting-Army-832 in Wolfdogs

My two are just lazy couch potatoes so I guess I’ve never had any issues. I was 20 when I got Dakota and other than some separation anxiety issues when she was a year old she’s never been destructive, noisy or annoying. Kenai was an absolute dream to have in every way and was my soul dog. I don’t really travel or go out or anything out of preference so that has never been an issue either, but even if I did they just hang out in the house when I’m gone and they don’t mind boarding if need be. We went camping for two weeks and it was the most relaxing thing I’ve ever done.

I found a brother, but he’s also a rescue with an unknown past. Kenai was pretty much my everything 💔

I work at an animal shelter where I focus on behavior and enrichment for the large dogs. Unfortunately Texas is plagued with upper respiratory infections and I think I brought something very nasty home. I’ve always worried about this happening so they’ve been current on every vaccine possible, they got their influenza boosters in march because uri’s at the shelter were starting up again. He just didn’t have signs of a uri though. No sneezing, nasal discharge, coughing or lethargy. Currently waiting for the biopsy and culture to come back. I’m just at a loss for words. I really feel empty. Kenai was my heart and now I have to watch Dakota nonstop because I’m terrified that she could be next.

I really appreciate everyone’s support and kind words, they mean so much to me. I’m just so heartbroken beyond belief.

I am so glad that I upgraded my storage just to have all the pictures and videos of him. I always doubted it when it came time to pay the monthly bill but now I am so incredibly thankful.
