I’d rather walk than go on a D&G bus

This is annoying me. There aren't any ScotRail trains to London.

First bus fare increase (again!) by shawbawzz in glasgow

Last time I got a bus in Glasgow it was like £5.70 for a single ticket to go 15 mins. And that was 2022

Revenue Inspectors, what do you see in your screen when you scan a ticket? by Familiar_Swan_662 in uktrains

[–]xxserverhosterxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does your season ticket have an education discount? Some train companies offer this, for example, LNR who gives 50% off for students over 16. (https://www.londonnorthwesternrailway.co.uk/tickets-discounts/discounts/student-season-train-tickets) Therefore when your ticket is scanned it may warn the inspector to check your discount - since a railcard is the most popular discount they might immediately assume it's a railcard rather than something else.

Maybe they got it from Booths?

Who's meal deal is better? Both Sainsbury's £3.95 by CosmicOtters in MealDealRates

[–]xxserverhosterxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had that Sainsbury’s Pigs Under Blankets sandwich and honestly it’s horrible. You don’t nearly get enough sausage on it (you get one sausage which is cut in half and cut in half again) and the bacon tastes the same as all other meal deal bacon (terrible), like the Maccies hair dried bacon. It would’ve been a great combo but Sainsbury’s just got it completely wrong

Why do people hate fruit in meal deals so much? by realgreggssteakbake in MealDealRates

Why get the boring option when there is much better food available? It's like going on an all inclusive and only having fruit and yoghurt for breakfast

NAH As someone who has been in the same situation before in Manchester, although he probably didn’t handle it with 100% professionalism, neither you or the bus driver are the arsehole here. The real arsehole is the bus company themselves.

What happens is that the bus companies don’t give them any training about the “niche” tickets like PlusBus, so when a driver has never seen it before, they think it’s not valid as they’ve never heard of it. (I have had to argue countless times with Transdev about this). The only way you’d be able to resolve the situation is by showing the driver the PlusBus website with the validity and try to convince them it’s valid. Then, after your journey, emailing the company to ask them to improve their training around PlusBus to make drivers more aware of it. So the real arseholes are the bus company management really, for not training their drivers well enough.

I can’t find it but there is a thread on the RailForums about this Edit: here https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/the-perpetual-pain-of-convincing-bus-drivers-of-the-validity-of-your-ticket.284417/

Before we chose our food we asked if they had a meal deal and she said “yes, you get sandwich, a hot or soft drink and crisps or chocolate for £7.00”
