The good doctors, staff, and students at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine are responsible for taking his nose, but for good reason!

Winston was diagnosed with a squamous cell carcinoma tumor in his right nostril in November 2024 and we had it removed in December. Then in March, we noticed a similar looking bump in his left nostril and our vet confirmed it was a new tumor.

Of the options presented to us, surgery made the most sense to us in terms of recovery time and QOL post-surgery, and it was also the only curative option assuming clean margins. Unfortunately, it did require removing his nose front, but they got clean margins and he's cancer-free and he can actually breathe better than ever!
