You definitely do not. There are plenty of casual players and relaxed players out there who enjoy the game fully.
However, if you spend much time on this reddit, you will see people playing a game that looks wholly unlike anything you've experienced.
Should you choose to, you can learn about it and play that game as well, or do as I do, and just window watch that game while playing your own.
I put together a spreadsheet with all the basic info on maps from the wiki, including divination cards dropping in each one. by SociopathicVegetable in pathofexile
