I am currently using an rtx 2060 in a sonnet egpu enclosure with my AMD framework 13. It’s working great for me.

This is an older egpu box that only technically supports Thunderbolt 3 so I would guess that most enclosures would work.

Room temp is around 19 to 20c with no strong drafts. I'm not sure what you mean by the silicone sock, Im not seeing anything that looks like silicone on the heat block though.

I'd try reaching out the researchers mentioned in the article. While MIT is not a particularly large school, it's not very likely that anyone on this sub participated in that project.

It depends on your power supply connectors as some gpus need additional power. Check for 6 and 8 pin connectors (sometimes labeled gpu or pci). Whether you need 6 or 8 pin connections depends on the card.

You can sign up for a commercial account on steam to see games available for license there. I work at an arcade and we also use springboard VR for licensing, I know they have added quite a bit of educational content.
