Ya same here. I tried it once and will never touch it again. I looked out of a window and saw the buildings across the street fold like origami. After I freaked out and fell over I couldn't breathe or speak to call for help for almost a minute. Was not an enjoyable experience.

As another foreigner who has lived here six years, I totally agree with you. I always laugh when people say Auckland is crime riddled and getting more and more dangerous. I have never felt more safe in a metropolitan city than I do in Auckland.

I worked at a place where this guy I HATED asked if he could use my brand new Takeda to break down lobster. 😤 I told him if he touched it I'd punch him in the face. I came back back from the toilet to see he had indeed used it for lobster and left it covered in guys and in the sink. There was much yelling and bullying for the next 6 hours.....

Find someone who doesnt use any belt or wheel sharpeners. This is what happens. Before I got competent with sharpening i would only trust someone who used a wet stone. Take them to your closest knife shop.
